You go with the currents.

You swim towards what you think should be the surface.

After a long time you end up touching something that feels like the ceiling although you have no way of knowing it for sure. You hold on to something but it breaks.

The current gets stronger and stronger.

Your head bangs against a wall and you lose consciousness for an instant.

A little later you start to see a light in a distance. The light grows brighter and brighter until the daylight explodes around you.

You burst almost instantly into flames and end up as a miserable pile of ashes in one of the lakes that are used by the town to “treat” its spoiled water.

Congratulations you’re DEAD and you won’t be able to inflict any further damage on the world.
