The Top Plot for Takeover is the 21st Topmonhit Story. It involves the return of Dark Top and the fulfilling of a long and convoluted plan he began over a year prior to the story. It is part of a "trilogy" that is more of a group of stories where each one focuses on a different member of Team TOT, though it's more of a focusing on their main foe.

Story

Part 21-1: Not-So-Jolly, the Snowman

After a recap of events involving the Iclan Kingdom in The Dark Perforation Saga, it explained that the kingdom was in economic turmoil after the reconstruction. In order to stay intact, Snophia had to either tax the citizens to nothing or recieve help from the ruler of the planet, Chills Pacone. She chose the latter, and went to meet with him, but called for some diplomats to help her out. Instead, she got the usual: Team TOT and friends.

At Chills Pacone's office building, July 11th, Team TOT, PB, Sunset, Sneezier (with Sera), Sub and Scorch came in to meet Snophia. Their reason for being late was they had trouble finding a parking space (or, more specifically, they were arguing if they should use a handicapped space). Now that they were there, however, they went into the elevator and it went up; the music put Light Top to sleep, while Sneezier was trying to get Sera to stop hopping around.

In Chills Pacone's office, Chills waited for them to come. They were late, which he disliked; he was willing to wait one more minute, and as soon as that minute came the elevator opened and they burst out. Chills said they were late, and he may take that into consideration. They were about to begin the talks, with Sub and Scorch on alert, when Sera ran out of the elevator; Sneezier chased her, and Light Top woke up. Chills recognized Sneezier and Light Top as the ones who killed his father, and all the members of Chills' mafia that were there aimed their weapons at them, effectively ruining the whole thing before it began.

Part 21-2: The Aftermath of Darkcorp

Chills had his mafia members fire at Light Top and Sneezier, and with Sub telling Chills to stop or else (with a fireball in his hand), Chills suspected foul play from the SWDF and they began to open fire on Sub as well. The two sides fought throughout the room when a snow-white waddle dee showed up to help Chills, but Sunset stopped him from attacking Light Top. The two began to fight when PB yelled at them all to stop, now standing on a table. This caused everyone to stop, though Chills wanted it to continue until he got revenge.

PB thought it was all just a mistake, and Sneezier realized something, asking Chills if his father was Ansnowio. Chills answered yes, and Sneezier said that was Dark Sneezier and Dark Top who had killed his father to begin Darkcorp. Despite this, Chills still wanted his revenge, and it was obvious the talks were close to breaking down at that point. In the waiting room, they waited for Chills to cool off while Sneezier mused that if it hadn't been for that event, Darkcorp wouldn't have formed. Topper got an idea from that, and they went back to see Chills.

Topper explained to him that, although it made Topper hate himself for saying it, what was true was that because Ansnowio was killed, in his quest for revenge Chills became the ruler of a whole planet instead of only a regular mafia boss. Chills realized he was right, and while he was not about to thank Light Top and Sneezier for it, he would let them go for the time being. The talks quickly started up as Snophia agreed to tell Chills where the kingdom was if she got a low interest rate and 40% of the kingdom's profits went to Chills. Having done nothing but nearly wrecked the whole thing, Team TOT and the others left.

Part 21-3: Popcorn World

Team TOT returned to Gisho Castle and headed into the dining room, only to see Apricot and another Top, drinking lemonade! Light Top was confused as to who it was at first, as was Apricot, having thought it was Top all along, and Light Top tried to guess who it was. He guessed nearly every form of Top there had been except for the correct one: Dark Top. Light Top was ready to defend himself, but Dark Top said he wasn't there for evil purposes, but for peace. Specifically, diplomatic relations.

About an hour later they were at a meeting place with Team TOT and the other guest stars, and Dark Top began to explain why he was there. There was a flashback to The Plot of Evil Dreams when Light and Dark Top stopped Metal Top from taking control of the dream machine, and Dark Top said he escaped and made it to a planet called Popworld. He said there was a tyrant ruler named Blork there who he overthrew after gaining the trust of the people, and the people then made him the ruler. Team TOT and the others weren't convinced, so he suggested they come to Popworld to see how his rule has changed the planet firsthand. After a bit of research, they agreed to humor Dark Top and go to Popworld with him.

Part 21-4: Blooper Hippo

At Popworld, everyone went to Dark Top's castle and while looking out the balcony, Dark Top sang a song about his rule on Popworld. PB was convinced, as it was hard to argue with a song, but Light Top continued to say Dark Top was evil. Dark Top said all he ever wanted was power, which he now had on Popworld, and that all he wanted from Star World was to be allies... and possibly funds to help the planet grow. He also mentioned that he had a problem: Blork, the former ruler, had been causing some problems with the loyalists to him, and it would be useful if they would go and stop him.

They weren't sure if they should, but decided to so they could see just what type of ruler Dark Top had overthrown. It was then they noticed Tron was stuck on the Starcruiser Prime, and got it down. With that, they got in their ships and headed to where Blork and the loyalists were last seen. Sub and Scorch remained on the Nightwind IV until confirmation of Blork's location was obtained, but while flying through the air Top's Star Ship and the Starcruiser Prime were hit by missiles and had to make an emergency landing.

Specifically, Top made a crash landing. They appeared to be unscathed, except for the fact they were surrounded by goombas and capsule Js. Blork then came out, being carried on a portable thrown by some squishes, and was a massively obese blooper with a silver crown on its head and a large mouth. He snarled at them, and they were about to fight when the Starcruiser Prime crashed, destroying the entire encampment. Blork sent his loyalists to attack them while he escaped after the stress nearly got to him. The goombas, capsule Js and some Hammer Bros. began to attack them.

Part 21-5: Vague Foreshadowing Ahoy!

The goombas, capsule Js and hammer bros. attacked Team TOT and the others, but were starting to lose when they attempted to activate a missile to blow them into the sky. Just then a frag grenade landed near the capsule Js and blasted them away and a Pelican Dropship came down, which Sub and Scorch came out of. After the hammer bros. went down, the goombas all ran. With that, they decided not to go after Blork (as they were unsure which direction he went anyway), and for the next week an uneasy alliance began between Popworld and Star World.

Dark Top obtained a large number of newspapers from Star World to catch up on the news, and at his castle, he read about various things (mentiond in Trivia), most notably The Dark Perforation's defeat and how it had built Metal Top. Suspecting Metal Top wouldn't bother anyone anymore, a loud thud was then heard in another room. Dark Top went to investigate and found a large box that was gift-wrapped. He read a note on it, and stated that "He’s not going to be a problem anymore…"

Part 21-6: Say “Blubber Blooper” 3 Times Really Fast

Three weeks later, on August 2nd, Topper was filling out a form on the computer (the "interests" box), when his Palladium Fire Flower rang. He answered, only to find he had picked up a real fire flower instead and was soon scorched. Oshy answered the Palladium Fire Flower, and it was Dark Top. At Dark Top's castle, Dark Top told them that Blork was causing trouble again, but him going and stopping Blork himself wouldn't be the best publicity stunt. Oshy asked why they should help, and Dark Top's answer was they were the good guys.

Topper woke up, saying he dreamed that he was a hamburger on the grill being topped with fire flowers. Oshy hung up, and explained the situation to Light Top and Topper. Though they didn't want to, they knew they had to, and a couple hours later were at Popworld Canyon, along with the other guest stars. Without warning they were attacked by a group of bang-bangs, but those were quickly dispatched and they found the encampment over a hill and began to attack. Blork saw them and roared at them, angry at seeing them again.

Blork said he wouldn't stop terrorizing the people until he was back where he belonged, and a fight between them began. Although Blork tried to attack them with his tentacles, when one was cut off he said he couldn't even feel them anymore. Although they kept cutting off the tentacles, Blork spat up intestinal juice at them, though the tentacles were still his main method of attack. Tron hit him with a Zap Cannon, paralyzing him, but Blork tried to stop them, wanting to propose a proposition...

Part 21-7: Topmonhitnoe and Another Top Too

Blork asked them if they really trusted Dark Top, and Light Top was the first to answer no. Blork suggested they work together to overthrow Dark Top, and he was willing to let someone else rise to power and he would just stop being an outlaw. Team TOT and the others were about to consider it when something small and shiny screamed by overhead and fired bullets, missiles and energy blasts everywhere. One of the missiles flew right into Blork's mouth, who suspected this to be a trick and a surprise attack, but the missile completely blew him up, killing him and sending his guts everywhere.

As the encampment went into a panic, the thing that opened fire on it landed on the ground, causing Light Top to scream in anger. It was Metal Top, standing in front of them, but with blue eyes. They prepared for another fight when Metal Top spoke that its directive, to destroy Blork, was complete. It then scanned Light Top and registered him as an ally, confusing everyone; Sub mused someone must have found it and reprogrammed it, and Metal Top stated it was returning to "Master Dark Top's" castle. This confused Light Top even more.

They then heard a voice call out, and dimensions warped as Dimentio teleported into the area! Everyone went on high alert, but Dimentio said he was only there to visit, and since they have had it too easy so far, he decided to give them a real challenge. He scrambled Metal Top's circuits and teleported away, and Metal Top's eyes went purple and went on the attack. It began to battle them, and during the fight it fired an energy blast directly at Sera.

Part 21-8: Technology Tumble

A gloved appendage (a leg, to be exact), came out and grabbed the blast, stopping it from hitting Sera; this was from Hey You, who then threw the blast back at Metal Top. Metal Top retaliated with a missile that blasted Hey You into a tree. After a few more attacks, Hey You came back through a warp pipe, now with a referee uniform, and announced the round was over and declared Not-Metal Top the winner, which was recieved with an energy blast from Metal Top. After Top hid in his hat, a series of attacks finally did Metal Top in as its eyes shut off.

One thing that worried them, however, was why Dimentio showed up, but then Metal Top spoke up again, stating that its backup files were found and the system restore was finished. Metal Top then stood up, its eyes red again, and saw them. It was at first confused as to what happened, but after being told that The Dark Perforation was destroyed, it simply laughed. Now that The Dark Perforation was gone, it was its own master and could do its own bidding, and would begin by destroying them. It then noticed a new file, however, called diment.exe. It opened it, and suddenly it began to spark; it was lifted into the air and a massive energy wave came out from it, spreading across the planet.

No one felt anything except for Stuffwell, Sneezier, Scorch and Tron; Stuffwell and Tron deactivated, while the other machinery deactivated as well. Sub quickly teleported them to their ships before the wave arrived and they hurried off the planet. Watching the planet from space, they knew all the machinery would deactivate on it... figuring diment.exe was Dimentio's doing, Light Top decided Dimentio did something good for once, as Dark Top would be unable to do anything now.

Part 21-9: Of Course You Know What This Means!

At Gisho Castle, in Oh Gee's lab, Top was havin Oh Gee fix Stuffwell from the deactivation. Topper, meanwhile, was wondering how Popworld was faring without technology. The answer was not very well, for over the next several days the people of the planet began getting restless. To calm down the masses, Dark Top decided to hold a press conference, where he told the crowd there that he was working on getting the technology back up, as well as investigating what caused it. He told them to stay strong, and that he had hired a highly advanced scientist to help him.

In reality, however, he had hired Kienstrom, who was only there because Dark Top was paying him. After that, they left to Dark Top's Castle, where Dark Top told Kienstrom to begin working on building something he had a blueprint for instead of fixing the machinery problem. Dark Top told him to not ask questions or he won't get the money, so Kienstrom agreed to build it. Over the next week, Kienstrom built whatever it was, and by the end of the week most technology had returned to the planet. Dark Top decided to hold another press conference, this time with it bein televised.

Reporter Guy, the Popworld version of News Guy, reported on the event, saying Dark Top had an announcement that would supposedly change Popworld's history forever. Dark Top announced that with valiant efforts, the machinery on the planet had returned, but to prevent it from occuring again they needed to defeat those who caused it... and with that, Dark Top declared war on Star World.

  • Because the start of this story involves the Iclan Kingdom and its aftermath of The Dark Perforation Saga, this was originally supposed to occur after The Dark Perforation Saga. However, because Topmonhit wanted to group it with Return to Gisho and a currently unknown-named story, it was pushed to #21.
  • Part 21-1: Not-So-Jolly, the Snowman is a reference to Jolly the Snowman.
  • Everyone wants to use Popworld in something.
  • Blork's appearance is somewhat of a reference to King Hippo, who is not only obese like Blork but, as SZM once pointed out, has eyes like that of a Blooper, which Blork is.
  • Dark Top's song is called "Dark Topolis".
  • The letter that came with the gift read "This is a black hole cannon, capable of forming a black hole warp to anywhere in the galaxy. For purposes of the plot, use these coordinates, and you can find Metal Top. From, a fellow with his head in the cloud."
  • Part 21-7: Topmonhitnoe and Another Top Too is a reference to the campaign song of William Henry Harrison and John Tyler in the 1840 United States presidential election.
