The Mushroom Kingdom is one of the most powerful kingdoms on Star World. It is expansive and has many varying terrains, including snowy, desert, and toybox. Princess Peach Toadstool is the kingdom's main ruler, and Yoshi is the prime minister, while High Councilman Toadcriid represents the Kingdom in the Council of Star World.

Toad Town

Toad Town is the capital of The Mushroom Kingdom, near the very center, and a bustling city/town mainly inhabitated by Toads. There have been several different versions of it in several games; however, the Paper Mario version is the one most often used [By Topmonhit]. It is directly south of Princess Peach's Castle, and Mario's house is accessible from here. It also has sewers which are quite disgusting.

Princess Peach's Castle

Princess Peach's Castle is the castle owned by the ruler of The Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach. The castle's outside appearance has been somewhat the same throughout games, although the inside has changed quite a bit. It is often the site of attacks by the Koopa King, Bowser, and was once abducted by his own castle and brought high into the sky. Other villains have been known to attack it often.

Shooting Star Summit

Shooting Star Summit (which is possibly also the location Star Hill from SMRPG) is a summit to the east of Princess Peach's Castle, and is said to be the closest land location to Star Haven. Shooting Stars can often be seen here, hence the name. Merluvlee and Merlow's house can be found here, as well.

Goomba Village/Goomba Road

Goomba Village is a small village to the west of Toad Town; the two are connected via Goomba Road. Goomba Village has only one family (and a Toad House) living there, Goombario's family. There is also a small forest to the west, including an area a bully, Jr. Troopa, hangs out at. Goomba Road features a fortress Goomboss resides in, but it's essentially tiny and currently unoccupied.

Koopa Village/Pleasant Path

Pleasant Path is a path east of Toad Town, which can bring you to Koopa Village, a village of Koopas (and some Bob-Ombs, too). The village is the hometown of the famed explorer, Kolorado, and it's said to also be the hometown of the Koopa Bros. and also the massive Kent. C. Koopa. It's also the home of Kooper. If you pass Koopa Village and continue on Pleasant Path, you'll eventually encounter the Koopa Bros. Fortress, although it's mostly empty now. One of Star World's Space Colonies is based off this location, the Pleasant Colony.

Mt. Rugged

Mt. Rugged is a mountain to the east of southern Toad Town; it's accessible via a train in south Toad Town. It's notable as being one of the few places with surviving Whackas, and needs to be traveled over in order to get to Dry Dry Desert.

Dry Dry Desert/Gritzy Desert

Dry Dry Desert and Gritzy Desert, which are very likely to be a part of the same desert, is a desert to the east. It is very easy to get lost in the desert, but does have an oasis. There is also an outpost known as Dry Dry Outpost, and also ruins in the north known as Dry Dry Ruins. The Gritzy Desert portion features a Koopaseum and also an underground network of caves.

Forever Forest

Forever Forest is a very, very, very thick forest east of Toad Town. It is very easy to get lost... forever! There is, however, a forest... guy holding a beard who sometimes helps lost travelers. There are also boos living in the forest, as well as Boo's Mansion, a mansion owned by a boo princess named Bow. During the Star World Invasion, the Boos helped the SWDF by destroying the Metal Army's lumber bots and forced the robots be lost in the forest.

Gusty Gulch

Gusty Gulch has a radically different sky than Forever Forest; while Forever Forest is dark, Gusty Gulch is somewhat brighter, and dustier, too. All the boos living here are of a strange Ecru color, unlike most Boos which are white. At the top of a hill lies Tubba Blubba's castle, although he has not used it for years and instead Federation of Evil Acquaintances has often used it for their own purposes.

Shy Guy's Toybox

Shy Guy's Toybox isn't exactly in the Mushroom Kingdom, as it's unknown whether entering it leads to another dimension or whatnot. All that's known is that it appears to be inside a toybox hidden inside a building in Toad Town. The toybox includes a giant toy train which can be used to get to various stations, and all sorts of Shy Guys. General Guy apparently leads this place.

Lavalava Island

Lavalava Island is an island in the southern Mushroom Kingdom inhabited by Yoshis, Ravens, and other jungle creatures. There's a Yoshi village here, led by a chief, and deep in the jungle lives Raphael the Raven, who is like an overseer of the jungle. There is also a volcano on the island, which is difficult to get into and was once explored by Kolorado.

Flower Fields

Flower Fields is a hidden area apparently in the northwest Mushroom Kingdom, although this may have been for lack of a better location. Flower Fields is filled with various anthropomorphic flowers, and is watched over by a very old tree known as Wise Wisterwood. There is also a living sun there, which brings sunlight to all the flowers in the fields.

Shiver Region

The Shiver region is a snowy region in northern Mushroom Kingdom. The easiest way to access it (not that easy) is a warp pipe in Toad Town sewers, which brings you to Shiver City, a city inhabited by penguins, as well as Mayor Penguin and the famous novelist, Herringway. East of that is the Crystal Palace, a palace that was built in dedication of the stars, but was later overrun by Bowser's troops. Further east is Starborn Valley, which is a small village led by Merle, some Toads and some Ninjis; they look after newborn star kids who have yet to fly up to Star Haven. It's closely connected to a temple up north, but the temple is beyond the Mushroom Kingdom border.

Hollijolli Village

A village up on a hill, Hollijolli village is in a state of constant Holiday and snow. It was attacked in the Shroob invasion and destroyed; we have yet to decide whether it was rebuilt later on.

Toadwood Forest

Toadwood Forest is a forest west of Toad Town. During the Shroob invasion, a factory used to utilize Toad Vim was built; during X-Chaos, the factory was blown up by Lord Crump.

Thwomp Volcano

Thwomp Volcano is a volcano in southeast Mushroom Kingdom. There's not much else to say about it.

Rogueport and Surrounding Areas

It is difficult to discern whether Rogueport is even a part of the Mushroom Kingdom; although Peach stated she was traveling in the Mushroom Kingdom, very few characters recognized Mario and some did not know who Princess Peach was, either.

Rogueport

Rogueport is the center of the areas listed here, and as its name suggests, it is essentially a port for rogues. Thieves, bandits, crooks, and all manner of not-nice people can be found here, as well as two rivalry mafias, though the rivalry has died down since Frankie took over in place of Don Pianta. Things began to heat up all over again, however, when a new Bandit Mafia emerged and integrated the bandits into it. Not all folk there are nasty, however; Professor Frankly does his research there, due to the port actually being built on top of a century-old ruin of a city that was destroyed by the Shadow Queen a thousand years ago. A thousand-year door can be found in the underground section of Rogueport, which led into the Palace of Shadow, and the Shadow Queen's resting place.

Petalburg/Petal Meadows

Petal Meadows is a meadows northeast of Rogueport. It features an old castle once inhabited by a massive dragon named Hooktail, and also features a fortress called Shwonk Fortress to the east. Petalburg is a peaceful town ran by an old Koopa mayor named Kroop, although Koops has been considering running for mayor.

Boggly Woods

Boggly Woods is a black-and-white colored woods north of Rogueport. All creatures here have adapted to have pale coloring, as well. There is also a massive, very old tree known as the Great Tree, and it is inhabited by Punis and Jabbies.

Glitzville

Glitzville is a city floating on the sky. It holds the Glitz Pitz, a fighting arena that was once ran by a Clubba named Grubba. When it was revealed he was sucking the power of fighters away, his former assistant, Jolene, took his place. The very first champion was a Toad named Prince Mush (not to be confused with the moron user). Other champions include Rawk Hawk and The Great Gonzales (Mario).

Twilight Town

Twilight Town is a town west of Rogueport, and it is always twilight, or dusk, there. The townspeople are all dark and stuff. There are also some woods known as Twilight Trail which leads to Creepy Steeple, a steeple with a bell at the top. The steeple is often lived in by Doopliss, although he doesn't seem to be there very often. Twilight Town was also the site of a battle between the Shadow Army and The Yoshi Bodyguards, and was also the site of Noshum and Vivian's wedding. In the end of Unity of the Shadows, the bell in Creepy Steeple was destroyed.

Keelhaul Key

Keelhaul Key is an island with a pirate's curse on it, although the curse seems to be lifted. It was once the location of the Pirate King Cortez's wrecked ship, the Black Skull, but after he obtained his skull gem once more, he was once more able to set sail, and thus a small community of sailors began on the island. Cortez sometimes makes trips back to the island, but this seems to often result in his skull gem being stolen.

Poshley Heights

Poshley Heights is a fancy, rich town which is accessible via the Excess Express in Rogueport. The town is the place to be for the wealthy, and it also features Poshley Sanctum, the former site of a Crystal Star.

Fahr Outpost

Fahr Outpost is a... well, far outpost. It's northwest of Rogueport, and is inhabited by Bob-Ombs with russian accents. The outpost has a massive cannon which can shoot things (or people) far enough to the moon. For some reason, they're worried it will be used for evil. Fahr Outpost was the site of the beginning of Grodus Rising, where it was revealed that there was a special military lab known as the Gad Instillation where Professor E. Gadd supposedly worked at for the military. Fahr Outpost was also where the conscripts of the X-Nauts joined them.
