Metal Top is a robot of Top Mon Hit that was created by a mysterious space creature. His origins were a mystery at first and actually had several different originsl until after it was destroyed, after which Topmonhit realized that nothing had ever been finalized, so he brought Metal Top back for another round and came up with an official origin. He's been known as the traitor robot, as anyone he's ever started working with was eventually betrayed by him (with 1 exception).

Top Story Bio

A mysterious robot of Top who appeared to battle the YB one day. Ever since then, he has battled them repeatedly, often forming alliances with other villains and then breaking that alliance, such as when he joined Darkcorp only to betray them. Eventually his body was destroyed leaving just his robotic brain, but he was then taken to use as a computer for a base in space. However, the base was shut down… or so the YB thought, as Metal Top woke up again and created a bunch of clones. The YB destroyed all the clones and blew up the base, sending it to Mobius. There, Metal Top Base and the remaining Metal Top Clone tricked Metal Sonic into helping them until they got the power they needed to return to Star World. The original Metal Top was now a giant ship that could transform into a giant Metal Top, and they joined the Federation of Evil Acquaintances until, like with everyone, they betrayed the group and stole the Beanstar. Metal Top returned during a party Peach was having and used her voice from her speech to awaken the Beanstar and defeated the YB. The YB got the Star Rod and went up to Peach’s Castle and defeated Metal Top, blowing up his body. It seemed like he would finally be defeated except his brain had fallen on a meteor in space so when the YB went to the future, they found Future Metal Top as a computer for Morton Koopa Sr.’s base. They managed to once again beat Metal Top, and when they returned to the past and defeated Morton Koopa Sr., Metal Top’s last appearance was his brain being destroyed by a meteor, so he’s gone now, right? Right? ...yeah right.

History

Creation

An unknown amount of time ago, a being known as The Dark Perforation looked on to the galaxies in the surrounding area Star World was in. This place was filled with strange, powerful beings, but even moreso strange, powerful artifacts. The Dark Perforation, however, was not fully prepared to begin its strike; thus, it created a creature based off of someone who appeared in more prophecies one would expect, and Metal Top was born. The Dark Perforation sent Metal Top to Star World as a scout to test the strength of these areas. The first thing Metal Top did, of course, was find Top and attack him.

The Yoshi Bodyguards

First Meet

Metal Top originally appeared out of nowhere while Top was out and about walking around. Metal Top chased him to the Yoshi Bodyguards HQ, which was already being attacked by one or two other forces, and even without a definite finish, Metal Top left, saying it would be back. It would later return various times, but would find the YB to be more than a match. It suffered various defeats, and began to ally itself with various groups of villains, including Darkcorp. It would always betray them, though, as when it tried to take control of Darkcorp's roboticizer to control its robots; that plan failed, though, but Metal Top escaped. Finally, though, Metal Top would be destroyed, leaving only its brain, which was kept encased in the YB HQ.

Rebuilt

This would prove to be a mistake, as the brain would be taken by one of the groups Metal Top had allied with previously and used as the main computer for a space station. They were defeated, however, and the station would be deactivated for a time. Without warning, however, numerous clones of Metal Top appeared, and they learned the station was active again. For a final blow, they attempted to blast the space station to pieces; instead, they blasted it away, sending it flying through space.

The station crash-landed on Mobius, near a base that Metal Sonic had built. With one surviving clone left, Metal Top, still in control of a broken space station, sent Metal Top to temporarily ally with Metal Sonic as it could repair itself. Finally, the original Metal Top repaired itself into a huge ship shaped like its former self, and the new Metal Top was given abilities very similar to the old one. They were now Metal Top Ship and Metal Top, respectively.

Federation of Evil Acquaintances

They left Mobius and headed back to Star World for revenge, but were stopped by Federation of Evil Acquaintances when they passed by Neo Star, and agreed to ally with them. They then went to Star World to try and attack the YB, but failed in their plan. Later, Metal Top would help out with their biggest plan yet, helping to invade Animal World, and then later going with Cackletta and a few others to steal the Beanstar. However, the YB stopped them, and successfully deactivated Metal Top Ship; Metal Top was put in jail. Later, it and the rest of FOEA were broken out by King Boo and his Boos.

Metal Top would remain with FOEA until near the end of the Dark Ages, where it finally betrayed them and left with the Beanstar (that they somehow got), effectively ending FOEA. Metal Top then went into hiding as a Toad in Toad Town until it could make its move.

The Adventure of Wishes

A few months later, Princess Peach had a party and invited The Yoshi Bodyguards. The party was parly in honor of their exploits. During her speech, however, Metal Top, who was still in disguise, used her voice to awaken the Beanstar, then lift her castle up into the sky under a giant Metal Top! Metal Top then used the Beanstar to become invincible and blast the YB out of the castle. It then held Yoshi and Peach in the castle and basked in his victory before making the complete wish to take over Star World (for his master).

Unfortunately for him, the YB had gone and collected the pieces of the Star Rod that had been shattered by Wart. Metal Top hadn't noticed, however, and when he was just about to use the Beanstar again, the giant Metal Top crashed into Wart's Castle, causing Metal Top to drop the Beanstar, and it slid under a low opening in the wall, forcing Metal Top to go find it. This gave the YB time to go through the giant Metal Top, which they found out was Metal Top Ship; they attacked its brain, and was eventually able to defeat it, shutting it off.

Metal Top eventually found the Beanstar once more, but overheard the YB talking with Peach and Yoshi in the other room; enraged they had gotten there, it blasted the wall down, and the fight began. Metal Top used the Beanstar to make wishes while the YB used the Star Rod; the YB used an underhanded trick, however, and wished they had the Beanstar. Metal Top was more or less powerless, and they blasted it to pieces, some of which went flying out of the castle. Just then, Metal Top Ship activated its self-destruct, but the Star Spirits appeared and saved Peach's Castle from being destroyed. The brain of Metal Top, however, had gotten out of the castle and floated through space.

Morton Koopa Sr.

Metal Top's brain eventually landed on the head of a massive koopa riding a meteor through space that was unconscious, and the light tapping of Metal Top's brain woke him up. This was Morton Koopa Sr., the father of Bowser Koopa. At this point, the timelines split into two: Officially, the YB came eventually and destroyed Morton Koopa Sr., as well as the meteor; Metal Top's brain just barely survived until a random piece of a meteor hit it and destroyed it.

In the original timeline, however, the YB did not destroy him, and so Metal Top's brain went into the future with Morton Sr., who was successfull in taking over Star World. He found Metal Top, and made him the main computer of his castle. Metal Top planned to betray him eventually once he could contact The Dark Perforation, but then the YB appeared suddenly, having came from the past! Metal Top tried to kill them, but instead they defeated Metal Top, disactivating all power in the castle. Little did they realize Metal Top was still alive and followed them back into the past by putting all his data into a tiny version of himself. Thus, although it appeared Metal Top was gone for good, he was once again biding his time, hidden...

Topmonhit Story

Rebuilt... Again

Metal Top inserted its data into an old computer, and took control of it, adding wheels and a monitor and other such things. It then found a large group of villains making plans for an evil plot on Star World, and joined up with them, noting they had a large amount of machinery. Metal Top also noted some of these villains were ones he once worked with: Cackletta, Fawful, Gruntilda, Dark Top, Metal Sonic, and others. Metal Sneezier was there too. Anyway, their plan was to use the Mystery Eggs, Fountain of Dreams Star Rod, Master Emerald and Magic Paintbrush to take control of the dreams of everyone on Star World. This gave Metal Top an idea--when they least expect it, take control of the device to take over Star World itself!

When the YB (and former YBs) came to stop them, Metal Top fought against Lucky. There wasn't an official decision for the battle end, though, as Lucky froze the computer's bottom half and Dark Top interrupted the battles by activating the dream machine. The YB fled, and Metal Top didn't do much for the rest of the plot until near the end, where it left the computer body and took control of the dream machine and used pieces of scrap metal around to make itself a new body. After introducing its return, Metal Top went on to explain how it is still around, but before it could do anything else Light Top and Dark Top deactivated the machine; to save itself, Metal Top disconnected itself with the machine and flew off out of the castle, deciding now was the time to return to his creator.

The Dark Perforation

It took Metal Top nearly a year to return to The Dark Perforation, both in part due to the long distance and the makeshiftness of his current body. Once he finally arrived, however, The Dark Perforation went over all the data Metal Top had gathered while Metal Top was built a new, sleeker body. A few months later, The Dark Perforation called Metal Top in for a meeting, and said that it had some concerns about Metal Top's loyalty. Metal Top attempted to alleviate these concerns, then asked about a kirby they had named Snophia, wondering if she had revealed the location of a diamond they were after. The Dark Perforation said she had not, but they now had a way to get her to reveal it.

Minorbu, one of the top leaders of the Dark Perforation Army, had been given the ability to read minds, so they brought Snophia into the room and asked her where the diamond was; she refused to answer, but Minorbu read her mind and found the exact location of it. Not wasting a moment, The Dark Perforation sent Minorbu out to retrieve the diamond, leaving Metal Top there for that time. Minorbu would return empty-handed, however, as the by-then named Team TOT had made off with it just in time. Metal Top spoke up, telling The Dark Perforation of a jewel known as the Master Emerald. The Dark Perforation sent Metal Top to Mobius to obtain it, sending Orp and Hurtilu with him.

When Metal Top arrived on Mobius, he was easily able to steal the Master Emerald. Unfortunately, someone didn't fuel up the three ships sent with Metal Top, so Team TOT, along with Whirl, Slike and some others, were able to get onboard one of the ships. When Metal Top found out, he sent a creature named Kujo after them, then left the ship; just in time, too, as because the YB had attacked the creature filling the ship's fuel tank, the ship began to lose altitude and crashed to the planet's surface.

Not wanting any screw-ups, Metal Top went around looking for the fallen ship. When he recieved an alert from Orp and Hurtilu that Team TOT had gotten on the ship they were on, Metal Top decided just to leave the planet. Somehow, in some way, however, they got onto the ship, so Metal Top fought against them using the Master Emerald's power. Metal Top was defeated, and threw them out of the ship, along with the Master Emerald. It then recieved a communication from The Dark Perforation, telling him to return to the castle and leave the Master Emerald.

Invasion in the Name of The Dark Perforation

When Metal Top returned to the Dark Perforation Castle, it learned that was a test to see if Metal Top was still loyal to The Dark Perforation. At the same time, it allowed Minobu to go to Star World and take the diamond that Team TOT still had back, which paved the way for their invasion of the Pokeworld. Metal Top was to run the invasion with an army of Pokemon robots, ironic in that the invasion began immediately after the Metal Wars ended. Metal Top swiftly came in and began hammering the four main regions, but the Pokeworld Defensive Forces, which had long been underlooked, worked hard to push them back.

Metal Top had his own agenda in the invasion, however, and while he sent various top Pokemon robots to various places, he himself ran the attack on Silph Co. in order to obtain a Master Ball. He found that Team TOT had gotten into Silph Co., though, so he quickly took the Master Ball and escaped to the roof. Soon after, Team TOT came up, but Metal Top made it away just in time, leaving them to fight a Metal Venusaur, Metal Charizard, and Metal Blastoise. With the Master Ball, Metal Top made its way to the Whirl Islands, where it attempted to capture Lugia, but was blasted out by an Aeroblast, losing the Master Ball in the process.

The situation of the invasion began to deteriorate until Metal Top and some robots went for a last-ditch effort to blast the planet using a Metal Heatran in Stark Mountain. A force from the Pokeworld Defensive Forces came and attempted to stop him, successfully destroying the Metal Heatran and forcing Metal Top and his troops to retreaet to their main stronghold, Cerulean City and Cerulean Cave. There, he waited for them all to converge there, where he attempted to destroy them all using Metal Mewtwo, powered by the diamond. Unfortunately, it was defeated, but Metal Top knew a secret about the diamond--it would overload with power and cause an explosion so powerful it could take out a whole planet.

Thus, he and the remaining robots quickly escaped the planet, only to appear not far away. Metal Top waited for the planet to be destroyed and then to pick up any remaining pieces, but the diamond ended up being thrown far away from the planet, doing no harm to anything. Metal Top considered not returning to hte castle, but eventually came back in defeat, but The Dark Perforation decided at this point it was time to show them they really meant business...

And so, The Dark Perforation and all its creatures began to prepare for their largest invasion in a long, long time...

Discrepancies

Origins

Metal Top has had several different origins before an official one was made, including being built by the X-Nauts, Y-Nauts, a group known only as the "??? Guys", and possibly more. Sometime after The Yoshi Bodyguards in Lemon Lime Time… but before The Plot of Evil Dreams, Topmonhit realized an official origin was never made, so he decided to bring Metal Top back to explain its origins.

Non-Canon Appearances

Nintendo Anecdote 3: Not Really a Trilogy

Metal Top had very little part in NA3, only appearing in Beanstalk Park to race Metal Sneezier for a Jiggy. Metal Sneezier won (because a giant appeared and smashed Metal Top).

Personal Information

Personality

Metal Top's personality is cold and calculating, just like a generic robot. It is seemingly completely loyal to his creator, and betrays anyone else it ever works with. It believes itself to be superior to the original Top, even though it has failed to defeat him multiple times. Another trait of Metal Top's seems to be its persistance, having returned from supposed destruction two or three times thus far.

Unlike Metal Sneezier, Metal Top is completely willing to work with organic beings and spiritual beings, possibly showing what little respect it can for them. Mostly only those who serve The Dark Perforation, though. It'll often go out and help with invasions and attacks in an active role, spreading chaos and destruction for the Dark Perforation Army.

Abilities

Metal Top's abilities seem to be very similar to Top's with a few exceptions. Unlike Top, it can fly with jets in its shoes, and fire small, yet powerful missiles from its hands. It can also fire energy shots and blasts. One big advantage it has over Top and other kirbys is it can activate any known kirby ability without needing to copy it from something; it has all the abilities logged in its databanks, and can call upon any one whenever the need may arise.

Final Smash: Energy Compulsion

Meta Top's mask appears from out of nowhere a--

Metal Top blasts a wave of energy up, down, left and right. He then glows, and becomes Super Metal Top for a time, during which he’s invincible, faster, jumpier, powerfulier, etc.

Metal Top's Forms

  • Metal Top: The regular version of Metal Top, is basically a robot of Top. Is occasionally upgraded.
  • Metal Top Ship: After the original Metal Top's body was destroyed, it was inserted as the main CPU of a space station, which was later rebuilt into the form of a giant Metal Top. In the end, it self-destructed.
  • Metal Top Castle CPU: When Morton Koopa Sr. found Metal Top's brain, he made Metal Top the main CPU of his castle.
  • Metal Top Computer: After returning back in time, Metal Top inserted its data into an old computer, then upgraded it. It had wheels, but wasn't all that versatile.

Hardware Specs

Freaking unknown. On a side note, his hat seems to actually be a covering for his insides.

Interactions with Other Characters

Top Mon Hit

Main Article: Top Mon Hit

Metal Top was created to be based off of Top, and Metal Top believes itself to be superior to Top. It has tried multiple times to dispose of Top, and unlike Top's other evil form, Dark Top, Metal Top actually wants to kill Top (since that wouldn't destroy Metal Top). The two are often at odds, and a fight will nearly always ensue when they meet.

Oshy Gisho

Main Article: Oshy Gisho

Metal Top dislikes Oshy nearly as much as Top; while his creator sees Top as a threat, it sees Team TOT together as a larger threat, so Metal Top takes it upon himself to destroy Team TOT as a whole, as well as any former YBs.

Topper Mon Hit

Main Article: Topper Mon Hit

Metal Top has had less time fighting Topper than the other members of Team TOT, but dislikes Topper all the same and fights him at full strength.

Sneen

Main Article: Sneen

As Sneen is a YB, Metal Top dislikes him, but at the same time recognizes he's both a scientist and a strong fighter, making him a double-threat. As he is no longer around, however, Metal Top has mostly forgotten of him.

Slike F. Elion

Main Article: Slike F. Elion

Metal Top sees Slike as a minor threat to The Dark Perforation, but has only worked with him once in The Plot of Evil Dreams, and as Metal Top was in hiding anyway, all it knows is that Slike could prove useful if the need arose. There was one thing about Slike, however, that struck Metal Top as strange, but it has yet to figure out what that was.

Dark Top

Main Article: Dark Top

Dark Top is possibly the character Metal Top has worked with the most that it later betrayed. Metal Top worked with Dark Top in both Darkcorp and FOEA, both times eventually betraying him; this makes them on extremely hateful terms, and each once to destroy the other. Metal Top also knows that destroying Dark Top would destroy Top, allowing for a double-hit. Despite that, it sees Dark Top to be more useful as a pawn.

King Rexor

Metal Top sees King Rexor as a low-profile villain who will never truly amount to anything. He has had very little interaction, however.

Princess Snophia

Metal Top knows Snophia is only a pawn in The Dark Perforation's plan, and she has outgrown her use.

Cyrus Vance

Metal Top went into the invasion of Pokeworld believing it would be easy, but found the Pokeworld Defensive Forces to be tougher than it expected. In his mind, when the galaxy is in the hands of The Dark Perforation, he'd like to see Cyrus tortured.

Danny

Main Article: Danny

Metal Top sees Danny as egotistical yet powerful. Why is he on the good side? Either way, it knows he's powerful enough to have had a robot of him onboard Metal Top Ship in The Adventure of Wishes, but it's unknown if it was the one to build it or not.

Darkcorp

Main Article: Darkcorp

Metal Top tempoarily joined Darkcorp once, only to betray it (as expected) at a pivotal moment, blasting a number of ships it had. It was this event that caused Dark Top to detest Metal Top, but Metal Top saw it as nothing more than a step in his goal.

Metal Sneezier

Main Article: Metal Sneezier

Metal Top has not had as many run-ins with Metal Sneezier as one would think, but thinks he's a lousy villain getting in the way of The Dark Perforation. Luckily, The Dark Perforation instead used the Metal Army's existance to its advantage, leading Metal Top to want to think Metal Sneezier. Well, not really.

Sneezier

Main Article: Sneezier

Metal Top dislikes Sneezier with a passion, thinking he has no common sense and is really annoying, although it thinks all the YBs are annoying. Metal Top did realize, though, that Sneezier's Cyber Bell Vanguard is a powerful force on Star World, so it essentially disabled it to leave Star World nearly defensless. It doesn't work due to some of his forces on the planet.

Subsourian the Dark

Main Article: Subsourian the Dark

Metal Top knows Sub is a powerful user of magic, but thinks even if Sub went to fight The Dark Perforation, it would be more than he bargained for. He scoffs at the thought of him, or any YB, challenging The Dark Perforation.

The Dark Perforation

The Dark Perforation is the one who made Metal Top, is Metal Top's master, and Metal Top seems to be completely loyal to it. Technically, however, the most recent Metal Top was created by the original Metal Top, which was still built by The Dark Perforation, however. Metal Top has full belief in The Dark Perforation's ability to completely take over the universe.

Minorbu

Metal Top and Minorbu seem to have a sort of rivalry for The Dark Perforation's favorite going on, but are still willing to work together. They each seem to think they're the better one, but it's hard to figure out which is right.

Orp

Metal Top doesn't have much of an opinion on Orp, overall. She was made by The Dark Perforation, so he is on good terms with her.

Hurtilu

Like the ther top creatures, Metal Top sees Hurtilu as just a wrecking ball and not truly deserving of a high spot.

Trivia

  • The events surrounding Metal Sonic and Metal Top's temporary alliance were, in fact, done in another RP on NSider that really had nothing to do with the YB.
  • The idea of a metal doppelganger came from Metal Sonic from the Sonic series.
