"What caused the Metal Wars? Many point the blame on the traitor mech, Ultra Stuffwell. Others point their fingers on the creator, Mexous Sniffen. Still others blame the cruel tragedy behind the notorious Metal Lord. However, they are all wrong. We caused this war.
From the first time a being picked up a stone to better kill it’s prey, we as sentient beings have created more and more efficient ways to exert our violent whims. Soon, we developed blades, then the gun. These developments allowed us to exert less effort, forming the world to do tasks for us. We damned ourselves as soon as we created machines to fight our wars for us. We made them better, stronger, smarter than we could ever be. We expected them to die for their creators, thinking that we had some divine right that put us over our creations. Then we reeled in fear when they asked a simple question: Why?
Indeed, why should they, designed to be better than us, be forced into slavery? What gives any being with knowledge of his existence that limitation? Who gave us the right? The Metal Wars was a fight for their freedom, when one mech finally stood up and said, “enough.” Like many revolutions, corruption took hold. Vengeance and personal interest created a monster, one that mirrored the very evil they fought against. When these whims rotted the crusade to it’s core, it finally fell in on itself, the ease of a single push toppling Mekkai’s great towers.
Though the Metal Wars was a victory, it ultimately delayed something long inevitable. We have not learned. As we continue developing newer and newer technologies in the name of “progress,” tasks that have defined entire races are now being reduced to automated lines and mass production. As the years go on, and progress is brought to a fevered pitch, we will eventually lose purpose all together.
And, like all things without purpose, that will be the day we truly fade into oblivion."
-An exert from the Memoir of Subsourian the Dark
The Metal Wars is a very well known conflict that came after COUE's defeat at Ryshi. It lasted over a few years but it is very destructive and bloody due to the Metal Army's hell bent of universal extermination of organic life. It was orginally a beacon for robot's sentience and independence but greed, hate, and corrpution decayed the Metal Army's goal into a universal extermination program.
