The Galactic Federation is a transgalactic nation, and the largest unified body of power in the known universe. They span across four galaxies, and hold a sway over most human worlds, as well as a large portion of other major species. The Federation has been responsible to bringing many civilizations into an era of space flight, and are the founding member of the Alliance of Worlds. They are constantly bombarded from the outside by nations such as the Kriken Empire, and from within by revolts and Space Pirate raids.

The Federation was formed from the Galactic Order of Diaban, a mostly human empire that spread across three galaxies, branching out from the Sapia and into the Helios and Cremia Galaxies.
