Star World (Celestial Architect Name: SW 532-11 ml), sometimes referred to as Mushroom World (although usually only by Toads to make them feel more important) is generally the main planet the timeline is focused around, which is the fault of The Yoshi Bodyguards.

It's been said that in addition to the most well-examined Mushroom Kingdom, "There's the Carrot Kingdom, the Baggett Kingdom, the Cabbage Kingdom, and, largest of all, the Puh-tah-toh Kingdo-o-om." One game apparently featured the Bean Bean Kingdom as well. And if Wary wasn't so hungry this list might go on.

The planet has a diverse climate, with various provences making up the surface. Most powerful of these are the Mushroom Kingdom and the Koopa Kingdom, which have always had a long rivalry. The Yoshi Bodyguard timeline focuses mostly on the Yoshi Islands, on the eastern coast of the planet. Star World has had a long and spanning history, as much of conflict as of peace. The planet itself is rules by the Council of Star World, and to ward off constant attack from outside powers, the planet is defended by the Star World Defensive Forces.

Since the planet is the frequent target for villains and invading armies, the SWDF is formed to defend it. Almost all of the enemy attacks on it failed and the attacker gets a nastier counterattack by the SWDF which is fully prepared, fully armed, and most of all, very pissed off. It's like asking for a death wish.

The planetary terrain is very diverse but what makes it unique to other worlds is that most of the land formations, the flora, and even the clouds have eye-like structures in the outskirts of the mainlands and several islands. Most kingdoms inhabited a large area that matches their motif, such as the Mushroom Kingdom, which is known for its gargantuan mushrooms.

Geographic features

Star World's geography is immensely diverse, ranging from artic tundra to blazing desert. Life is abundant on the planet, so much so that it houses some of the largest examples of fungi in the galaxy. The planet itself has an average tectonic activity, but for the most part the planet contains one central landmass surrounded by a massive ocean. Once filled with open wilderness, Star World of late has begun to industrialize, population centers sprouting up all over the planet.

History

Pre-History

Star World was created billions of years ago when a local star went supernova, the gas cooling to form into a new system. Several billion years later, a strange race arrived, known only as the Stars. These strange creatures, unknown in origin, settled above Star World, creating strange sky-cities. Today, two of these are known as Star Road and Star Haven. It is possible, because of these strange creatures, that the Celestial Archetects avoided disturbing this sector, which continues to be a mystery due to the proximity of the former home of their central empire.

Eventually, on the planet below, life began to spring. It is unknown if the Stars had any influence over the development of life on the planet, but after several million years the population of the planet started to develop sentience at a surprisingly fast rate. It is unknown what civilization emerged first; many ruins continue to litter the planet from unknown cultures. Still, the first two to emerge and remain to present day were the Toads, strange mushroom-like humanoids, and the Koopas, who moreso resemble humanoid turtles.

The Toads were scattered on the eastern side of the mainland, divided into tribes and clans. The Koopas were moreso situated in the mountainous terrain up north, which dominated much of the landscape. The Koopas were the first to unite, forming a small kingdom which eventually grew in size. They soon began taking lands to the south, absorbing the Goombas, distant relatives of the Toads who were situated more in the center of the continent, and the Boos, who were scattered spirits who lived throughout the land.

On the islands to the east, the Yoshis entered a sentient stage. Yoshis were dinosaur-like creatures, who were more peaceful in their isolation than the other clans on the mainland. Different tribes evolved differently on each island of the Yoshi Archipelago, which is still prevalent in the diversity of the species today.

Trivia

 • The name, Star World, came from the RP named the Koopa Keep, a name that simply stuck. Sneezier and Subsourian brought in the name during the YB's early days. This was before Super Mario Galaxy, which confirmed the name as Mushroom World. Most authors in the timeline operate under the assumption that the name was changed when the Mario timeline was modified.
