Top's Lawyer is, as his name suggests, a lawyer, and Top's lawyer. As well as being a lawyer, Top's Lawyer is also a skilled use of magic, having studied under Mumbo Jumbo. He gets offended at people who eat pumpkins, and is occasionally an advocate for vegetable and fruit rights. Yes, he's against vegetarians. Whatever. He is one of the older yet lesser-used characters.

Top Story Bio

Top's Lawyer is... well, Top's Lawyer. What's his real name? Iono. So anyway, he's actually both a lawyer and a shaman. Mostly a lawyer, although he does have a wand with a pumpkin-shaped end and can do some magic. In fact, he was originally going to be a shaman, but ended up changing and becoming a lawyer. He first represented Top when he was accused of sneaking into King Dedede's Castle. Top won, even though it turned out he actually had snuck in. Later, he joined the YB for a short time, then left. He then represented Top again when Cackletta, Fawful and Grunty framed him in Tihnompot: Witchy Fury. I think he and Sub are friends, or at least have the potential to be friends. Maybe.

History

In Top's Lawyer's early years, he was studying to be a shaman, but after a time, he decided to become a lawyer instead, although still did magic on the side. After becoming a lawyer, he did a series of small cases, but his big case would come in the form of a kirby named Top. Top was on trial for supposedly breaking into King Dedede's Castle, and although the odds (and a king) were against him, he was able to persuade the jury to vote Top innocent. Once he won this case, he became more well-known, and began being called Top's Lawyer.

Top's Lawyer would continue to take court cases until early 2006, when he went to Star World and joined The Yoshi Bodyguards, an organization Top was a part of. He and his magic would help them out on several occasions until about a month later, where he left to take another court case, and wouldn't return to be a member of the YB again, although he did consider it.

He wouldn't need to represent Top again until about 2 years later, where Top was framed for robbing a bunch of places and people. The prosecutor was Koopa von Koopworth, and though Top's Lawyer had the upper hand, Top was declared guilty--it was later revealed the jury had been hypnotized by Fawful into saying that. Because of this, Top's Lawyer and the judge, Subsourian the Dark, went to try and find the stolen items themselves, only to end up following Chicken Head. In the end, they were able to find the items, and the fake Top, but Fake Top used the stolen Chaos Emeralds to become a true clone of Top; Top was able to defeat it, though. After that, Top's Lawyer returned home.

During the Holidays of 2008, Top's Lawyer got a call from Top saying some crazy toad was claiming Santa Claus was stalking him and was pressing charges, so Top's Lawyer came down to represent Santa. Of course, in the end, Santa was declared innocent.

Personal Information

Personality

Unlike the generic picture of a lawyer, Top's Lawyer tries to be more moralistic, and makes sure that the clients he represents aren't actually guilty of the crime they're being accused of. Strangely enough, in the trial that made him well-known, when he first represented Top, Top actually was guilty.

For some reason, he used to try and keep his magical abilities secret, but in more recent times has actively used them in public. He always puts his lawyer duties first, though, and oftentimes tries not to use them in court unless things start getting a bit out of hand. He takes his job seriously, as well as most other things, but he isn't above having fun.

Abilities

Top's Lawyer has lawyer abilities. Woo. He also has various magical abilities, from firing magic shots, transformations, and other strange magical abilities.

Final Smash: T-Rex

Top’s Lawyer turns himself into a T-Rex and is invincible and has similar attacks to Giga Bowser.

Items

Pumpkin Staff

Top's Lawyer has a pumpkin staff that looks similar to Mumbo Jumbo's staff with the exception that it has a pumpkin on the end. No one knows where he obtained it.

Interactions with Other Characters

Top Mon Hit

Top and Top's Lawyer have a very obvious relationship; Top is Top, and Top's Lawyer is Top's Lawyer. They're also good friends, and Top knows he can call upon Top's Lawyer when he needs to. Top was the reason Top's Lawyer joined the YB for a short time.

Kurpa von Koopworth

Top's Lawyer has some contempt towards Koopworth, as he knows of some of his unlawful practices. If he faces Koopworth in court--which has happened at least once--Top's Lawyer will attempt to point out any fallacies Koopworth may introduce into the trial.

Subsourian the Dark

Main Article: Subsourian the Dark

Although their interactions have not been very many, it is assumed that the two get along well, given they are both magic users and they worked together in Tihnompot: Witchy Fury. The extent their friendship goes is unsure, however.

Trivia

• The idea for a pumpkin lawyer came during one of my bios for NSider. I told the reader to talk to my lawyer, then I gave them a pumpkin and ran off. Later, I used the idea of a pumpkin for a lawyer for Top's Lawyer.
