Star Wars is a historical war film franchise created by George Lucas and based on The Star Wars.

In 1977, George Lucas released a based on the Star Wars. The movie was such a surprise success, that it spawned two sequels. The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Revenge of the Jedi in 1983. This trilogy follows Luke Starkiller, a young Samurai learning the ways of The Farce. This trilogy would eventually turn into a massive money making empire.
In the late 1990s, George Lucas wanted more money. So he decided to remake Star Wars. The new movies were released in 1999 (The Phantom Menace), 2003 (Attack of the Clones), and 2005 (Return of the Sith). The new trilogy follows the rise of Jar Jar Binks in the Galactic Senate.
In 2012, the movie rights to The Star Wars were purchased by Mickey Mouse.

Star Wars has been re-released several times with new improved effects. The most critically acclaimed change was giving the alien bounty hunter, Greedo the Young, a chance to defend himself before being shot by the evil Han Solo. Other changes include adding new actors, replacing actors with CGI, and adding important dialogue and sound effects.
