This car is FUBAR

Generally, when something is FUBAR, it is not good. FUBAR is an acronym that commonly means "F____ed Up Beyond All Repair", "F___ed Up Beyond Any Recognition," or the most common translation "F___ed Up Beyond All Recognition."

Variations

Sometimes, "F___ed" is replaced with "Fouled."

Depending on situation or habit, "all" can be replaced with "any," and "repair" can be replaced with either "redemption," "recognition," "rescue," "reality," "recovery," "relief," or "reason."

FUBAR has sometimes been used in software development in the almost opposite sense: "F___ed Up But All Right," meaning that the system design is fatally flawed, but works anyway.

How to FUBAR

Cars

  • drive it off a cliff
  • rev 10 grand for 5 minutes
  • give it to a redneck

Computers

  • install Windows
  • pour liquids into the tower part
  • tow it behind a car for an hour
