With five laps to go, Matt Kenseth has a decent lead over Tony Stewart. A debris caution is called and the field is joined back together. With two laps to go, Stewart is able to pass Kenseth. Tony Stewart wins the 2009 All-Star Race:

- newly reformed Stewart-Haas Racing wins
- Stewart-Haas is Hendrick affiliated
