In [[2008]], it was announced that So Motors is working on an electric version of their [[So Car]]. In early 2009, a partnership was made between So Motors and [[Richards Motor Company]]. The deal would let RMC sell the So EC-1 in North America. It was announced that the RMC Charge would only be sold in limited numbers.
