Who was David Berger

David Mark Berger was an Olympic weightlifter who grew up in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights but competed for Israel. He competed in the Maccabiah Games before going to the 1972 Munich Olympics. It was there that he was taken hostage and killed by a Palestinian terrorist group called Black September. The David Berger chapter was chartered a few months before as Joshua AZA, but after Berger's death they renamed the chapter in his honor.
