The Greater Jersey Hudson River Region (commonly referred to as the GJHRR or the Gijahurr) is the order's third largest region with almost 400 engaged Alephs and over 500 engaged BBGs. The region generally has four (previously five) regional conventions a year, including RLTI (August), MIT (October), RJI (February/March), and LIFE (May). The region also holds one council convention a year for both Northern and Central Council called Spirit that takes place in December. The region previously held Spring Convention every other year in April, however, as of now there are no plans to continue Spring Convention. GJHRR is a region split into two councils each with an AZA and BBG board. There is no regional board, but the four council presidents act as the RCC or Regional Coordinating Committee.

The region employs three staff members, Judith Youngman, the region's longtime director, Jen Cahn, the Northern Council BBYO Connect director, and Simeon Pearlstein, the Central Council program director.

I hear ya, I work in a residential care parrgom for autistic kids (aged 8-17). I have worked there for 4 years and have experienced very similar problems as you have. I find it takes more patients to deal with all the politics of the place then it does to work with the kids.First of all to answer your question, no don't go to work. You need your days off, don't let work control your whole life. Besides if you go in you will not be happy about it so you will not do you best work and the clients your working with will suffer. I would like to share with you some things I have learned working in this kinda place that gets me though the day:communication always sucks! Talk to your boss all the time. Instead of getting grumpy about not getting more hours and then they posted a new position ask why . Maybe it was an innocent over sight and if you asked they would be more then happy to give you the hours. Some times its cheaper to hire 2 part-time then 1 full-time and its just not in there budget. Who know is my point so just sit down with you supervise and talk to them.Your boss called you today cuz she needs someone to cover and knows you are good about taking shifts and you were looking for more hours. Its just a questions no one is out to get you even tho it feels like it sometimes. What would you do it you were supervise. And you would be mad to find out there was a shift and not on called you when you are looking for hours! The other client my not be a perfect fit for this facility but they need care too, so just do everything you can for them. I have learned a lot of the time thing like this are out of you boss's control and sometime out of anyone control. Certain people have more government funding and on paper they are a good fit for one parrgom so that's where they end up. Again tho if it is bothering you, discus it with you supervise, she maybe about to help you understand why.Don't let the crap there bother you. just come in do you job to the best of your abilities and try to understand that things might not be clear to you but they are happening for a reason. No one might seem to notice or appreciate the work you do their. But the clients you work with do, even if they can't tell you that. Remember you are working there for them.
