Named after Judge Louis D. Brandeis, a supreme court judge who advocated against monopolies, powerful corporations, and public corruption. <br />
Brandeis AZA #1519 is the oldest continuously-operating AZA chapter in NRE-DC Council. <br />
Its oldest advisor, Mervyn "Moish" Hamburg, helped to found the chapter and has served it ever since (over 50 years of service).<br />
Brandeis AZA has been awarded the Henry Monsky award for chapter excellence over 30 times.<br />
