Teen Titans
From Superdickery
Teen Titans is (was, as it has ended) a hugely popular show. However it was also very unpopular with "real comics fans" who refused to see it as anything but an anime ripoff. If they had bothered to watch it, they might have enjoyed it. Of course, some of these people did try to watch it, but they had to stop because it made them want to kill themselves.
The series starred Robin in a timeline distinct from the DCAU as he, presumably fed up with Batman's dickery, went off to a San Francisco lookalike city to form a crimefighting team. The actual events that led to the formation of the Titans were purposefully left vague, so as to begin the show without pausing to explain backstory. This is another major point of contention for fanboys, who have constantly attempted to reconcile Teen Titans to the DCAU with no success.
Notable for having an absolutely horrendous theme song (sung by flavor of the moment J-pop group Hi Hi PuffyAmiYumi), which would occasionally be sung in Japanese. Nobody ever figured out a pattern in this. The episodes chosen for the Japanese theme song appear to be utterly random. Actually the pattern was simple; the episodes which have the Japanese opening were the predominately "humor" based episodes, like the Mad Mod, Mother Mae-eye, Ding Dong Daddy and whatever semi-groan inducing goofy antagonist the writers could drum up.
Also notable for making Raven and her mad sexiness mainstream.
