HotAndCold: Up to date again!

Booster Gold is a superhero known for many things, such as being a crook, having his own episode of Justice League Unlimited, being a damn good football player, getting his head slammed in a car door by Doomsday, being a JLI member, having really stupid armor in the 90's, being Supernova, having an exquisite rear end, time travel, being a superheroes major in college, and being one of the sexiest men in the entire DCU, to hear HotAndCold tell it.
Supernova

HotAndCold:

Supernova was introduced in 52 and his identity was presented as a mystery. By the time they actually revealed his identity about 6 months later, just about everybody and their Aunt Suzie had figured out that it was Booster Gold in the costume, save the desperate few who clung to the theories of Ray Palmer, Conner Kent, or, weirdly enough, John Henry Irons. As someone on LiveJournal put it, "Only in comics could they reveal Supernova's true identity to be someone who's been in the same place as him, at the same time, on more than one occasion - and have that be the most obvious candidate."

Supernova's powerset remains something of a mystery still. Teleportation is involved, and the costume gives off light, both of which are somehow or other connected with the Phantom Zone projector technology being integrated into the suit, but Supernova has demonstrated other powers not explainable by those means, and Supernova/Booster has been shown or mentioned to have stolen several other things that were presumably used in the creation of the suit. Time travel is a nasty, nasty thing. Apparently it also has lasers and some size-changing tech.

An interesting aspect of Supernova is that the costume is keyed to the Carter genetic code, which means that being related to Booster Gold is a prerequisite for Supernovaship.

Supernova I was Booster Gold, having faked his own death to operate for Rip Hunter without Mr. Mind noticing within the pages of 52. He was Supernova from about Week 8 or so to Week 37.

Supernova II was Daniel Carter, Booster's ancestor from the present day whom Mr. Mind had trapped in Rip Hunter's lab in Week 19. He was Supernova in Week 52 up until about 2 months afterwards in Booster Gold #1, when he got himself sucker-punched and the suit itself stolen by...

Supernova III's identity was originally a mystery, but was revealed in Booster Gold #4. Popular theories included Booster Gold (yes, again, though phrases like "from the future" or "from a different world in the Multiverse" were usually added.), Rip Hunter, Conner Kent, Ted Kord, and Jonar Carter (Booster's father, although only HotAndCold and Fishy even really thought this was a possibility). Supernova III turned out to be Jonar Carter. This is why you should always listen to HotAndCold and Fishy when it comes to Booster-related things. Jonar has been Supernova since Booster Gold #1 on.

Welcome
Please try and get rid of red links. Go to Wanted Pages and click on a red link in order to create it. You have to write something in, and save page, first. Also, Wanted Pages only list words/phrases/etc that are redlinked on two or more pages. To find redlinks that aren't on the Wanted Pages, go through all of the pages, or hit Random Page a whole bunch until you find one.

Oh, and don't start linking to every random word in an article. Don't just suddenly put a link around the word 'The'. If there is a common word that has an article, don't just slap it all over the place.

To Redirect: Make a new page, and the entire content of the page should be #REDIRECT and then a link to the page you want to redirect to.

To sign your name Cthulhu 20:18, 29 October 2006 (EST) do four of these: ~.

To make a new line in text, hit enter twice, or type <br>

While uploading, if you see the message "This file is over the size limit, do you want to continue?" DO NOT CONTINUE.
Resize the image in a photo editing software, so that it is small enough to fit here.

To link to something on the wiki, but make the text say something else, write the link as DarkGob|douchebag, with the word you want displayed being where douchebag is, and the word you want to link to being where DarkGob is. Like this. If you don't know where the vertical bar is, it's right above the keyboard, on the same key as backslash, just shift+backslash to type it. Apparently, you can't do that to where it'd link to the same page it is on.
HotAndCold

HotAndCold: Knitting update!

HotAndCold talks way too damn much.

HotAndCold has no soul, and is thus rendered incapable of registering love for her fellow human beings. (Much to Threepwood's chagrin.) However, this doesn't stop her from falling head over heels in love with fictional characters.

HotAndCold harbors severe lust for Booster Gold. She also knows nearly everything about him, too. Seriously. She's a creepy stalker.

HotAndCold is responsible for the Casstoons spinoff, The Adventures of Booster And Cass. Despite the name, no adventuring is actually done. They started out bitter and enraged at Booster's poor treatment in the early issues of 52, but then 52 got better, and HotAndCold got less bitter and enraged. Currently, there's a lot of gloating in The Adventures of Booster and Cass, but they're adorable, so that's OK.
Booster Gold

HotAndCold:

Booster Gold is a superhero known for many things, such as being a crook, having his own episode of Justice League Unlimited, being a damn good football player, getting his head slammed in a car door by Doomsday, being a JLI member, having really stupid armor in the 90's, being Supernova, having an exquisite rear end, time travel, being a superheroes major in college, and being one of the sexiest men in the entire DCU, to hear HotAndCold tell it.

Booster Gold's real name is Michael Jon Carter, not that he ever uses it. His twin sister is named Michelle Carter. It is currently unknown what on Earth their parents (or their creator, Dan Jurgens), were thinking.

Fact: There are two types of people in this world: those who are fans of Booster Gold, and those who are fans of Booster Gold and just don't know it yet.

He's also a sockpuppet, easily found in this thread (ask him anything!), although he has been known to show up in other places semi-frequently.

Can often be found defending himself from HotAndCold and Wonderfish, although Fish denies being anything other than an innocent bystander.

All threads made in the Comics Forum have a 33% chance of being derailed in a Boosterly direction, however briefly. Should HotAndCold post in them, this percentage rises to 45%. If Wonderfish or Doctor Sneeze also post, it rises to 60%. If all three of them post, it rises to 75%. If the Booster sockpuppet posts, it's pretty much a guarantee the thread's been derailed.

The New Ongoing
*No. 1 came out on August 15th, 2007. There was time travel and it was great.
*No. 2 comes out on September 12th, 2007. There will be an alternate cover and a team up with Sinestro and it will be great.
*No. 3 comes out on October 10th, 2007. There will be a bar fight with Jonah Hex and it will be great.
*No. 4 comes out on November 14th, 2007. There will be a team up with Barry Allen and Wally West as Flash and Kid Flash and it will be great.

HotAndCold:

Can usually be found wherever someone is discussing a Blue Beetle. Any of them, really. You could paint a ladybug blue and she'd show up. She has a problem.

HotAndCold's good twin, and fellow Booster Gold fan.

Rarely stops talking, but has good intentions.

At least partly responsible for Justice League Internet and Cult of Blue Beetle. Is not terribly sorry about either of these, as she did, in fact, warn you that she was a bad influence.

Officially OTP with Linkara after an elaborate geek-handfasting in the ASBAR thread (now the WonderfishXLinkara thread), despite the fact that they are not, in fact, dating. Yet. The bride wore the Green Ranger's costume, the groom the White Ranger's. The presumably got an e-divorce or something.

Now is e-dating Skippy. They have been dubbed Wonderskip by their E-Cupid.

Knight and warrior of Rainbowland. Was briefly God-Emperor of SD, not that more than a few people noticed. This was quickly forgotten by everyone but herself, although she may yet arise to reclaim her rightful title.

Superhero Profile
Superhero name: Wonderfish

Secret identity: Shobha Jennifer Ila Kazinka. For serious.

Age: Almost 22. Just you wait.

Education:

- Has a degree in math, but doesn't like to talk about it. May someday get a degree in computer science if it doesn't kill her first. At least then she'll be a doctor. Of science!

Special abilities:

- Able to derail any thread. Just look at what happened to the ASBAR thread. This could happen to you. Don't cross her.

- Lesbian magic, although technically she dated a guy once

- Thinks it's cute that the price of comics with tax is 3.14

- Magic bracers and tiara, despite the fins

- Spamming

- Is ever vigilant, mostly due to the insomnia which is slowly driving her mad

- Being a big damn sap

- Wikiholism

Other affiliations:

Founding member and priest of the Cult of Blue Beetle, which gives her the right to declare any enemy an abomination and declare holy war on them on behalf of all cult members. This would be more useful if the entirety of the cult wasn't already in the JLI.

Known weaknesses:

- The fins make it hard to drive the getaway van.

- Beholders

- Blue Beetles

- That thing female characters in comic art do where they twist so that you can see both their cleavage and their ass at the same time, despite the fact that bodies don't work that way. She hates that.

Plot development:

Her growing powers start to turn on her, meaning that even she no longer has any idea what's going on.

A very snarky, red-haired, glasses-wearing gal. The first frequent, female poster, aside from WonderLois. She has a famed love for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and has stated that she goes to those weird showings, where everyone dresses up as a character and sings to the screen.

The Pez wrote a sitcom about her called Oh, Joy! where he coined the term: "Rocky-Horror-loving sex deviant" that is, to this day, used as part of her avatar title.

Also fairly obsessed with They Might Be Giants, but one thing at a time, people.

Dragon-Wolfe Dolphinn has an unhealthy and adulterous obsession with Joyuna, whom he has declared his 'ocean princess forever.' Some forum members suggest that there could be a relationship between her and UnforgettableFire, but this has not been fully explored. She would totally do yuri with Eegriega, however she is now dating EspanolBot.
Supernova

He was Supernova in Week 52, and, if the interviews about the new Booster ongoing are to be believed, will not be taking the role back in said ongoing, although there will be a Supernova in it, which means...

Supernova III is going to exist, without any aesthetic changes to the costume at all. Contrast with the difference in costume between the three Blue Beetles, if you will.

HotAndCold:

Like the rest of the Marvel family, Mary was, for decades, cute and sweet and innocent and forever stuck in the 50's, in the most endearing way possible. And then Infinite Crisis came and everything had to be grittied up in the world of the Marvels. After the One Year Later jump, Mary's Shazam powers suddenly disappeared while she was flying and fighting bad guys. She managed to survive the fall, but spent the better part of a year comatose as a result. When she woke up in Countdown, she still didn't have any powers and Billy and Freddy were too busy to even let her know they were too busy to talk with her. So she wandered around until she got some powers on loan from Black Adam, which somehow inexplicably made her EXTREEEEEME. And gave her a new costume which somehow manages to have less cloth than the costume worn by Evil!Dominatrix!Mary in the second Superbuddies mini. Everyone is hoping for the best as an end result, but things look to get worse, with the "before they get better" part looking less and less like a realistic wish.

Still doesn't like Bats to this very day.

Currently he's the leader of the Green Lantern Corps Honor Guard... which basically means he's their special forces/SWAT officer. Former member of Justice League International, with connections to Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. Buddies with Kyle Rayner and Kilowog.
Ralph Dibny

HotAndCold:

Ralph Dibny, superhero alias the Elongated Man. Really, it's no wonder he decided to have a public identity. Gains his stretchy powers by drinking concentrated extract of Gingold (not Gingold soda, guys). His detectiving skills are second only to Batman's. He was a member of Justice League Europe.

He's married to Sue Dibny, who was murdered by Jean Loring and retcon-raped by Dr. Light in the Identity Crisis mini. As a result, Ralph became a starring character in 52, spending the first fourth of it pining, the second and third fourths of it somewhat batshit fucking loco, and the last fourth (or so) dead. Reunited with Sue in the afterlife, they became Ghost Detectives of Magical Going-Ons. Why nobody is writing a mini or ongoing or something about this yet, nobody knows.

Anybody spelling Dibny with an "e" in it officially looses their right to not get yelled at in all caps by HotAndCold. Why such an error sets her off so much, nobody is quite sure.

The Diary of Ralph Dibny is a satirical account of Ralph's shenanigans throughout 52. It is absolutely hilarious and a great read.

Booster Gold

HotAndCold: Unsurprisingly, I think the new ongoing will be great.

*No. 1 comes out on August 15th, 2007. There will be time travel and it will be great.
*No. 2 comes out on September 12th, 2007. There will be an alternate cover and a team up with Sinestro and it will be great.
*No. 3 comes out on October 10th, 2007. There will be a bar fight with Jonah Hex and it will be great.
HotAndCold

HotAndCold: Updating

HotAndCold is currently the clone of Darklyndsea and alternate universe counterpart to Eegriega. She allegedly resembles a cross between Ykari and Darklyndsea, but she doesn't entirely see it herself, nor does she really care. She is also the evil twin of Wonderfish, despite having a white DS which would usually indicate goodness. This is how sneaky she is.

HotAndCold has become famous for making chibis of various characters on request. For quite awhile, nearly every member of the board had an HnC chibi for an avatar and several still do. The chibis are always posted in black and white, but DoctorSneeze or Schide usually color them either on request, or simply because they want to.

HotAndCold knits. So far, HotAndCold has completed two fish (one Booster Gold-themed, the other Blue Beetle-themed) and a pair of Booster-themed fingerless mitts. She is constantly working on Ted the blanket, a gargantuan, time-consuming project. Whether or not Ted the blanket will ever actually be completed is something that has yet to be seen.

Superbuddies

HotAndCold:

A pair of minis (technically, a mini and an arc in JLA: Classified, actually), Formerly Known as the Justice League and I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League, reuniting both the original creative team of and several characters from the Justice League International. Funded by Maxwell Lord, the team's line-up consisted of Captain Atom, Fire, Mary Marvel, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, and Ralph Dibny, although Captain Atom quit the team following the events of the first mini and did not appear in the second one. Also featured were Ralph's wife, Sue, and the robot, L-Ron. Guest-starring in the second mini were Power Girl and Guy Gardner. Although it is generally liked by most casual readers, it has earned the ire of some avid fans by being either stagnation or regression of character for all involved. It was supposed to be out-of-continuity, as evidenced by numerous contradictions of canon, but The Powers That Be have declared it to be canon, albeit with liberal time-punching involved.

A brief synopsis of both minis:
*Mary Marvel is just the cutest, sweetest little thing you ever did see, isn't she?
*Fire doesn't have the good sense to wear a fireproof costume
*Blue Beetle has a heart condition and, as a result, is pissy most of the time
*Booster Gold has married an old hag in hopes of inheritance. This has not prevented him from being a lech at any woman he sees. Also, he is a moron.
*Guy Gardner - See Booster Gold, but replace "married an old hag for inheritance" with "opened a bar with an ex-supervillain." (Of note: said supervillain is actually from the first arc of Booster Gold's first series, yet Booster doesn't recognize him at all. Why this is the case is not at all clear, and it drives HotAndCold absolutely nutters, because it's not like Giffen/DeMatteis could have found him anywhere else.)
*Ralph and Sue are adorably married
*L-Ron is a boot-licking lackey
*Pop culture references from 10-20 years ago can get old pretty quickly
*Captain Atom acts like this: B|
*Skeets does not exist

That's pretty much all there is, honestly.

HotAndCold:

Originally featuring the duo of Oracle and the Black Canary, the BoP expanded to include Huntress and a few other characters before, in issue 100, Black Canary quit to chair the Justice League, and Oracle vastly expanded the team to include nearly every single female character in the DCU not already on one. (Although, of course, not every character on team would be sent out on the same mission at once.)

Was first written by Chuck Dixon, then Gail Simone, and is going through a brief period of guest writing by Tony Bedard before being passed to Sean McKeever.

HotAndCold:

A creature distinct from the fanboy, the fangirl possesses an obsessive, unwavering devotion to a specific character, although there are fangirls of larger groups, such as a certain group of characters, a certain character type, or even of a certain show/series/comic/what-have-you. Generally female, though male specimens have been observed, fangirls are known for such activities as fanfic and fanart, and they can become quite vicious if someone dares insult their chosen object of affection. Approach with caution.

The term is not actually entirely gender-specific, as females are just as capable of fanboyish traits as males are. It is, in fact, possible to be a fangirl and a fanboy at the same time. (cf.

HotAndCold:

Extremely popular Justice League title from the mid-80's-early-90's, written by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis. Host to such excellent artists as Kevin Maguire and Adam Hughes. Created the spin-off title Justice League Europe.

JLI is known for its comedic value, despite having a few very good serious arcs and issues to its name. It set up the (in)famous duos of Booster Gold & the Blue Beetle and Fire & Ice.

A popular conspiracy theory among comic fans is that the JLI has been cursed (or at least hated) by recent editorial, as there was a brief period of time where JLI members were dropping like flies.

Had a sequel in the form of the Superbuddies minis, Formerly Known as the Justice League and I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League (the latter of which was actually an arc in Justice League Classified).

HotAndCold:

A spin-off of the popular mid-80's-early-90's Justice League title, Justice League International (which was renamed to Justice League America following the creation of the Europe league), Justice League Europe is notable for actually using the "International" idea instead of just having it as an excuse to send the Justice League all over the globe.

The JLE was originally situated in Paris, France. However, of the teams members at the time (Captain Atom, Power Girl, Wally West, Rocket Red #4, Ralph Dibny, Animal Man, and Metamorpho), only Rocket Red was not an American and only he and Ralph actually spoke any French. Wonder Woman was supposed to be a member, but turned out to be far too busy in her own title to ever actually appear more than once or twice within the pages of JLE. If only this could apply to Wolverine or Batman. This was sort of fixed a little bit by the introduction of the Crimson Fox to the team later, and eventually the team moved to the embassy in London, anyway.

HotAndCold

HotAndCold: Minor updates. Knitting! :D

The chibis are always posted in black and white, but DoctorSneeze and Schide usually color them either on request, or simply because they want to.

HotAndCold knits. So far, HotAndCold has completed two fish (one Booster Gold-themed, the other Blue Beetle-themed). She is constantly working on Ted the blanket, a gargantuan, time-consuming project. Whether or not Ted the blanket will ever actually be completed is something that has yet to be seen.

Booster Gold

HotAndCold: Fake percentages make everything better.

Blue Beetle

HotAndCold: Fashion is a very important detail.

One of three superheroes worshiped by the Cult of Blue Beetle.

Dan Garret(t)
Sometimes a cop with spidersilk chainmail. Sometimes an archaeologist with an evil magic artifact. Always badass. He will destroy you by flying at you very fast, and if that doesn't work, he'll throw you into a planet. Can take a whole lot of beating. Despite this, is very very dead. Except for that one time.

Ted Kord
Notable for being possibly the most useless Blue Beetle, as well as the most loved. It has been asserted that he is smarter than Batman. Possibly not as prone to self-preservation, though, as his hairdryer gun only shoots strobe lights and compressed blasts of air. Except for this one time when it had a laser. Upon reflection, it's a wonder it took forty years for him to get killed.

The Blue Beetle sockpuppet is Ted Kord. However, he seems to have disappeared. We suspect Booster Gold of killing him so he could have Mike and Ted's Excellent Thread to himself.

Jaime Reyes
The current Blue Beetle. A kid from El Paso who would actually rather like to have this incredibly powerful alien invader out of his spine, thanks. In the meantime, not above using it to do a little heroing. Also, trying to keep the scarab from killing things. Somebody's got to do it.

Jaime is also notable as the only Blue Beetle capable of dressing himself reasonably well.

Do not make the false accusation that Ted was killed for Jaime to be created, as wonderfish will crush you. Jaime was created after Ted's death had already been decided.

Also, it's Jaime. Not Jamie.

HotAndCold: Anybody who hates Alan Scott clearly lacks taste. Clearly.

Green Lantern refers to many heroes in the DC Universe. They all wear green clothes and have rings. They like lanterns too, apparently.

One Green Lantern is John Stewart, who is the best Green Lantern, because he is one of the few who has an actual human personality, other than being an asshole and punching a bunch of things. Another Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, is an artist. The Pez and Virgil think he is hot. The most popular Lantern (for no reason at all) is Hal Jordan. He's a jerk and he punches people a lot. He's best buddies with Green Arrow. Yet another is Guy Gardner, who is an even bigger jerk than Hal Jordan, but we love him anyway (especially Hawthorne). And then there's G'nort, a dog thing. There's a whole Green Lantern Corps, which is like an army of Green Lanterns. One Green Lantern who is not part of the Corps is Alan Scott, an old guy who is totally awesome. There are a bunch more Green Lanterns, including this hot pink chick and an anti-social Planet.

It is a well known fact that without their rings, Green Lanterns are powerless. Except from the waist down.

HotAndCold:

Gotham City is a fictional city in the DCU, home to a plethora of crazy people in costumes, such as Batman, The Creeper, Robin, Poison Ivy, Batgirl, and The Joker.

Other characters with Gotham ties include Thriftie, Booster Gold, and Alan Scott.

In addition to a disproportionately high percentage of mass murderers, Gotham has been stricken by disaster after disaster after disaster, to the point that it isn't a wonder that anybody chooses to continue to live there, but rather that there's anybody left alive there at all.

HotAndCold: No me on this list? A shame, I say! I shame!

Founded one night in chat by RadiationHazard and wonderfish when they discovered that they had already been beaten to the Cult of Guy Gardner.

It is not entirely clear yet what this cult entails, apart from worship of the Holy Trinity. Proposed rituals include attempting and failing to blind people with strobe lights, flying at people very fast, having perpetually-misspelled names, having cutting lasers and not using them, and talking to oneself in public places. Venerated symbols include the Holy Scarab, the hairdryer, and the Holy Trinity of Dan, Ted, and Jaime. Robes are made of blue spidersilk-weight chainmail, because Golden Age Dan Garrett is awesome.

The Cult welcomes all interested members to come be cleansed by the holy blue fire. Green Lanterns need not apply.

He's also a sockpuppet, easily found in this thread, although he has been known to show up in other places semi-frequently.

Can often be found defending himself from HotAndCold and Wonderfish, although Fish denies being anything other than an innocent bystander.
