Writing a story usually posted on the internet using another (professional) author's characters and Universe.
No, comic books are not fanfiction.
There once was a prolonged argument on Superdickery about whether fanfiction was the equivalent of masturbation.
The majority of fanfiction is poorly written. The majority of fanfiction also has lots of slash. However, not all slash fic is bad.
There's some really good fanfic in general out there, as well.
