Character information and background:

The people of Snowbound tell the tale of an ancient warrior and a cosmic evil. In ages past, on another world, evil was preparing to attack the planet Micras, and this planet was being used as the staging ground. Using the ancient and vile relic Nightcrash as his weapon, the evil servant Shadow plunged the world into darkness and began to corrupt the entire population into the armies of evil. Within a few short months the world would be completely converted and the assault on Micras would commence. But a noble Paladin by the name Quillan Fatebane challenged Shadow and his master, the god of evil, defeating them both. The attack was thwarted, but the planet was dead. The Goddess took pity on Quillan and his noble allies, rescuing their spirit from the twisted influence of the Nightcrash and migrating their spirits to Micras, promising to reveal Quillan’s cape, the Paladin’s Cloak, to the next one to prove their devotion to Her and what She stands for.

With a story like this, it is no wonder many young children of Snowbound desire to become paladins. Rare is the call of the Goddess, but there is no denying it when She calls. Such was the fate of Tahndelaya Breakinridge, an 8-year old girl living in the small town of Rajak. The Goddess came for her one day, and since that moment she was never the same. Able to wield holy powers with a mere prayer, Tahndelaya had been blessed.

But the rulers of Rajak were shortsighted. They did not attemp to find away around the seemingly impassible mountains to send their young savior to the Temple City of Ougaram for a proper training. Rather, they stuck Tahndelaya with the rest of the Rajakian magic users in the local guild. There Tahndelaya was surrounded by those that assumed her gift was just another type of natural command over nature, no different then fire or earth. She was a holy mage, not a Paladin. Rather then train among the wise elders of ancient scriptures , she was stuck with a bunch of drones simply trying to find a magical cure for the ice age. They had no love or respect for the Goddess, but rather stood defiantly in her path as they attempted to mimic her greatness. Tahndelaya dismissed the bunch of them as heathens and spent her time reading what few ancient tomes of holy might Rajak had available.

It was no surprise to anyone when she accepted to lead a possibly dangerous assignment give to the guild by the Rajak elder. Several very suspicious characters had been in town recently and claimed to have a path over the mountain trails. The elder wanted several of the magi to follow them and see exactly what they were up to. Eager to show off the power of her Goddess to anyone that would watch, Tahndelaya lead two other magi deep into the mountains, where she was promptly captured.

Under any other circumstances, that would have been the death of her, but the rogue leader was intrigued by the outsiders, who had also been caught. A meeting between the Fallen Empire Rogues of the mountains, Tahndelaya’s magi, and the outsiders which called themselves the “Control of Destiny team” (more heathens in Tahndelaya’s eyes) lead to the rogues agreeing to join the modern world. Incidentally, an undead army arose and decided to attack the Rogue’s HQ at that very moment. Tahndelaya fought along side the CoD warriors, proving instrumental in defeating the shadow master that lead the evil forces into battle.

After the fight, the CoD members continued on towards Alassaht and Tahndelaya prepared to leave for home. But upon returning there she felt the call of the Goddess to follow the CoD team, and so she left at once.

Personality and skills:

Tahndelaya is destined to find the Paladin’s Cloak and save the world of Snowbound, or so she keeps telling herself. She refuses to settle for anything else, which leads her to be very stubborn in her beliefs. She cannot understand people that seemingly harm themselves in her eyes and feels compelled to correct this sort of behavior immediately. Although Tahndelaya realizes the CoD team’s power comes from elemental magic and not divine intervention, she knows that their motives are good and is willing to work with the heathens, at least on the short-term.

Tahndelaya knows that brute force is a foolish gesture with the power of the Goddess at her command, and only carries a simple staff as a focus point. She can unleash many different types of divine powers, from curing her allies to shaking nasty status conditions to causing misfortune on her allies. Unlike Sai’Kar, Tahndelaya is more of a defensive character then offensive, and her abilities later make her the superior healer.

Equipment:

Tahndelaya carries only a simple staff and refuses to even attempt to wield any other sort of equipment. A more powerful staff may be out there in the world, but for the majority of her adventure she trusts her standard weapon.
