The Fat Controller is the overweight controller of the Sodor Railways. He is frequently parodied by members and answers to "Sir Topham Hatt". His accent is very mysterious, at least, in the UK and Australia. He appears to speak in a mix of dialects - Cumbrian, Yorkshirian, Lancastrian and Liverpudlian, with a lisp on top. It sounds most peculiar.

Nowadays, Sir Hatt features in most episodes of the TV series, and likes to randomly appear out of nowhere, to inform the engines that they have caused [[Confusion and Delay]]. He is married with a mother, grandchildren and pet cat.

Often seen to be eating in office scenes of the TV series, The Fat Controller currently holds the Sodor record for most ice creams eaten in one afternoon. Other favourite foods include kippers, cream buns, candy floss and, of course, fish and chips.

"Well Djunn!" is a catchphrase used routinely on the Sodor Island Forum. It's origins are unclear. Some say it was invented by resident idiot [[JimBobDunnie]], who got the idea from Micheal Angelis' narration from "Gordon and Spencer". In the episode in question, the Fat Controller praises Gordon by saying "Well Done", but thanks to the accent, it comes out "Well Djunn". It's also an obvious variant of "Well Done", it stemmed from a mispelling of Jim's surname (Dunn) and became JimBob's official catchphrase. At some point people began using it to comment on JimBob's works and, in rare cases, other people's. Now it is one of the forum's most widely-used catchphrases. Others believe that [[Skarloey]] and/or [[Chris]] may have had more to do with the creation of the catchprhase, but no one is really sure.

Jimbob, and his mate-of-equal-intelligence [[Stepneydudette]], had planned to make a musical regarding the origins and background of this infamous slogan. However, as it soon became apparent to the pair that the idea would bomb and would probably not be as funny as their current works, [[The Salmon Adventure]], they scrapped the idea.

Registering with SiF in August 2003, Chris was one of several members to discover the message board following a post by [[Fat Hatt]] at TV Tome (or what has now become [[TV.com]]). He is also one of several members to possess the popular nickname Chris, which can sometimes lead to confusion (but not very often delay) on the forum!

During 2004, Chris entered the world of SiF Media as a voice actor, his first role being The Fat Controller in the RH&CS Redub of Troublesome Trucks. He has been given a variety of roles in many other productions since, but [[The Fat Controller]] is by far his most popular and personal favourite character to play.

Joining the ERS Evaluation team in 2005, Chris filled the position left by Peter Sam. This was also the year he began to frequent MSN Messenger more regularly and he now chats quite often with a number of other forum members – among them are [[Skarloey]], [[Stepneydudette]], [[JimBobDunnie]], [[Road Roller]], [[Christopher]] and [[Jake]].

2005 also saw Chris establish [[Flying Kipper Studios]], choosing to start out with a couple of fairly unsuccessful audio dramas, but ending the year with a Christmas redub of Its Only Snow. The following year was when the studio struck gold as it were, with a popular three-part redub of the feature length special Calling All Engines. This was followed up in August by The Adventures of Fergus, a combination of the two Series 7 episodes that starred Fergus.

Chris likes to think of himself as a bit of an animation buff, being a big fan of the anime and stop-motion genres in particular. It’s this love of animation that’s led to Flying Kipper Studios putting out three reasonably well-received redubs of Postman Pat episodes to date. He hopes to work on a parody project involving clips from the Trumpton series in the near future.
