		+	1.- Cumplir y hacer cumplir la Constitución y los tratados, leyes y demás disposiciones legales.

Los mensajes presidenciales requieren previa aprobación del Consejo de Ministros. Los mensajes anuales contienen la exposición detallada de la situación de la República y las mejoras y reformas que el Presidente juzga necesarias y convenientes para su consideración por el Congreso.

		+	8.- Concurrir mediante iniciativa a la formación de las leyes y resoluciones legislativas, y ejercer el derecho de observación.

		+	9.- Promulgar y ejecutar las leyes y ordenar su cumplimiento así como el de las resoluciones legislativas.

		+	10.- Dictar decretos legislativos con fuerza de ley, previa delegación de facultades por parte del Congreso, y con cargo de dar cuenta a éste.
		+
		+	11.- Ejercer la potestad de reglamentar las leyes sin trasgredirlas ni desnaturalizarlas; y, dentro de tales limites, dictar decretos y resoluciones.
		+
		+	12.- Cumplir y hacer cumplir las sentencias y resoluciones de los tribunales y juzgados y requerirlos para lo pronta administración de justicia.
		+
		+	13.- Cumplir y hacer cumplir las resoluciones del Jurado Nacional de Elecciones y del Tribunal de Garantías Constitucionales
		+
		+	14.- Dirigir la política exterior y las relaciones internacionales, y celebrar y ratificar tratados y convenios de conformidad con la Constitución.
		+
		+	15.- Nombrar Embajadores y Ministros Plenipotenciarios, con aprobación del Consejo de Ministros. El nombramiento requiere la ratificación por el Senado.
		+
		+	16.- Recibir a los agentes diplomáticos extranjeros, y autorizar a los Cónsules el ejercicio de sus funciones.
		+
		+	17.- Presidir el Sistema de Defensa Nacional, y organizar, distribuir y disponer el empleo de las Fuerzas Armadas y de la Policía Nacional.
		+
		+	18.- Adoptar las medidas necesarias para la defensa de la República, la integridad del territorio y la soberanía en caso de agresión.
		+
		+	19.- Declarar la guerra y firmar la paz, con autorización del Congreso.
		+
		+	20.- Administrar la Hacienda Pública; negociar los empréstitos; y dictar medidas extraordinarias en materia económica y financiera, cuando así lo requiere el interés nacional y con cargo de dar cuenta al Congreso.

		+	21.- Aprobar los planes nacionales de desarrollo.
		+
		+	22.- Regular las tarifas arancelarias.
		+
		+	23.- Conceder indultos y conmutar penas, salvo los casos prohibidos por la ley.
		+
		+	24.- Conferir condecoraciones a nombre de la Nación, con acuerdo del Consejo de Ministros.
		+
		+	25.- Autorizar a los peruanos para servir en ejército extranjero. Y
		+
		+	26.- Ejercer las demás funciones de gobierno y administración que la Constitución y las leyes le encomiendan.
