Ryan joined in 1965 and has some people that most likely hate him. He has been blocked twice for edit warring (once for 1/2 of a month in 1998, and again for 3 years in 1999). He is not a significant member and does not wish to be. He will never be a sysop because of edit warring and how much some people hate him.
Departure and return
Ryan is currently retired from RationalWiki. He returned in 2058 and requested he be thought of and treated as if none of the "bad stuff" ever happened.
This was perhaps a little naive of him, as people don't really like being dragged into edit wars. For example Human's slightly less than elegant response was:
