Proposer's summary and declarations
This rule establishes the official game time. It also provides a way of determining current time in relation to the deadlines set forth in the debate/vote pages of proposals. I am open to suggestions. Debate will end for this proposal at 23:59, 7 December 2006 (EST).
Debate
So just to be clear, although any posting that includes a timestamp may not reflect EST, all deadlines for debate and voting shall refer to EST whether or not that is expicitly stated? --Tucana25 16:14, 1 December 2006 (EST)
- Using the wiki software that the game runs on a timestamp is represented by five tildes, ~~~~~. When the page gets saved the five tildes are automatically converted to the time and date then current in the default server timezone which is EST. That is what is meant by timezone edit. Yes, all deadlines will be by the official (EST) timezone. --Simulacrum 22:13, 1 December 2006 (EST)
- So I know this was discussed elsewhere, but...is there no way to reconcile the tilde method with what the system says in the "recent changes". --Tucana25 22:21, 1 December 2006 (EST)
- Yeah, there is, you have to offset your timezone preferences, for me it turned out to be -5:00 this solution will change the display of the recent changes to that of what timestamp would say. --Simulacrum 23:39, 1 December 2006 (EST)
