  • Horsenden Hill/Paradise Fields 0700-0900: 12 Meadow Pipits SE, pair of Stonechats, 12 Goldcrests 'new in', 14 Chiffchaffs, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Blackcaps 7 Lesser Redpolls SW, 4 Bullfinches, 1 Brambling (Nick Senior)
  • Wormwood Scrubs: Dartford Warbler a first winter bird discovered in the bushes on the southern edge of Chats Paddock at 0805hrs. It was in loose association with a newly arrived winter male Stonechat. Also c8 Chiffchaff, c2 Lesser Whitethroat, c4 Blackcap, c8 'alba' wagtails over, c30 Meadow Pipit, c20 Redwing & 5 Collared Doves heading NE (our largest single flock ever!)   • Leyton 07:30-08:30 6 Chaffinch N, 3 Collared Dove N, 1 Pied Wagtail S, 1 Meadow Pipit E. Local Jays doing a steady movement W with bulging crops, but they will be back so 'viz' but not really 'migging' (Paul Whiteman)
  • East India Dock NR: 2 Redwing, f Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, f Chaffinch, GBBG, Grey Wagtail, Fox ! (Paul Hyland)

  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: possible Blyth's Reed Warbler reported at 12:40; directions from the visitor centre, "said to be giving good call" (Birdguides)
  • Chertsey: Purple Heron north over town centre this morning (Birdguides)
  • Wormwood Scrubs: 1 Wheatear still, c13 Yellow Wagtail, c10 Pied Wagtail over, c40 Meadow Pipit, c15 Swallow, 2 Sand Martin, c70 Redwing, c12 Song Thrush, 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Blackcap, c10 Chaffinch over, 1 Stock Dove & a Jackdaw. (David Lindo)
  • Stoke Newington Reservoirs (0645-0915): vis mig: 1 Rock Pipit, 35 Meadow Pipits, 8 Bramblings, 13 Siskins, 2 Redpolls, 92 Chaffinches (best site count), 13 Grey Wagtails (best site count, inc. two groups of 4 & 5), 1 Yellow Wagtail, 39 alba Wagtails, 17 Song Thrushes, 24 Mistle Thrushes, 12 Redwings, 2 House Martins, 1 Swallow. also: female Peregrine, 1 Reed Warbler, 1 Wigeon, 1 Kingfisher, c6 Chiffchaffs (inc. a dull, greyish bird with indistinct but noticeable wing bars). full counts at Stoke Newington Birds (Mark Pearson & Tony Butler).   • William Girling Reservoir: Hen Harrier on the east bank this afternoon for its 2nd day (Birdguides)

  • London Wetland Centre WWT: Ring Ouzel; also Rock Pipit (Birdguides). Late afternoon, 1 Hobby, 1 (long-staying) Greenshank and three Water Rail (calling) (Martin Honey).

  • Mudchute/Millwall Park: Monk Parakeet over towards Island Gardens, but none around the communal nest; also no sign of "Glen" the Ring-billed Gull on the falling tide opposite Lovells Wharf, but 6 Com Gulls and GBBGull present. (David Callahan).

  • Ingrebourne Valley: 5 Chiffchaff, 3 Yellowhammer, 24 Teal, 80 Meadow Pipit, 4 Swallows, Yellow Legged Gull, Blackcap, Green Sandpiper, 7 Snipe and 2 Water Rail.Also 6 Migrant Hawkers, Common Darter, Speckled Wood, Large White and 2 Red Admirals.(Dave Morrison)
  • Dagenham Chase LNR: Imm/Fem Garganey, (seen well today and in flight), 3 Siskin flew over,1 Green Sandpiper 4 Common Snipe,1 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing,pair of Stonechat, Swallows moving south and a Bat bigger than the House Martin that was just behind it ! at 5.45pm.Also Ring-necked Parakeet heard calling but not seen.( Vince Halley-Frame).

  • South Norwood Lake: 2 Mute Swan, 9 Cormorant, 70+ Black-headed Gull, 12 Tufted Duck, 15 Ring-necked Parakeet, 2 Pied Wagtail, 4 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 Nuthatch, 2 Chiffchaff, 15 Goldfinch, 8 Chaffinch, 4 House Sparrow (John Watson).
  • Rye Meads RSPB: female Hen Harrier south over car park at 10:10; also seen over Sewardstone (Birdguides).
  • London Wetland Centre: three juvenile Little Stints plus Jack Snipe, Fieldfare and adult Kittiwake through (Birdguides).
  • Leyton (viz mig 07:45-08:15): just 1 Swallow E, 4 Swallows E @ 11:30, 3 Mistle Thrushes E and a Jackdaw W p.m. (Paul Whiteman).
  • Kensington Gardens: 7 Egyptian Goose (Paul Bruty).

  • Thames at Millenium Bridge: 2 ad Common Gull, 1 2nd-winter Great Black backed Gull (Gabriel Jamie).
  • Dagenham Chase LNR: 1 Female Pintail, 5 Wigeon, possible Garganey ( bins only),7 Fieldfare, 1 Redwing,3 Common Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper, 20+ House Martin, 7 Swallow and 1 Grey Wagtail. ( Vince Halley-Frame).
