  • Rainham Marshes RSPB: Hobby, 2 juv/imm Wheatears, Gbbgull, 2 Oystercatchers, Stonechat, 10+ Teal, and up to 6 distant probable YLGulls Thameside. Also, 9 Whimbrel, 8 Greenshanks, 2 Common Sands, Black-tailed Godwit reported by other, luckier souls. Best sighting was of a probable Serotine or Leisler's Bat hawking along one of the ditches at 1230! Description sent in to local recorder...   • East India Dock Basin: at least one pair of Sand Martin confirmed as having bred in drainage hole (Nick Tanner per DMc).
