Elvin Theodore Thurman was born on March 6, 1908 in Noti to O.C. Thurman and Mary E. Thurman. He married Gertrude Blanch White (born May 15, 1900). He died on February 15, 1971.

"Dad [Kenneth (1896)] had 2 dump trucks that he hired out to the county (Lane) for road building jobs and to the city of Eugene for the building and paving of Birch Lane.
