Current revision as of 10:08, 8 March 2026

The WIW World Championship is a professional wrestling championship in WIW. It is the first world title established in WIW, having been introduced in 1999.

In 2002, the World Incorporated Wrestling (WIW) and split its roster into two franchises, Rage and ShowDown, in a brand extension. The title was then designated to the ShowDown! brand, while WIW established an alternate world title known as the World Heavyweight Championship for the Rage brand. The Undisputed WIW Championship was then renamed simply as the WIW Championship.

At the Countdown to Destruction Internet pay-per-view on December 15, 2013, when WIW Champion Kevin McAlmond won the championship against World Heavyweight Champion Martin McAmond, Colton Sherley and Brian Eicholtz, the World Heavyweight Championship was unified with the WIW Championship, resulting in the retiring of the former, and the renaming of the latter to its current name of the WIW World Heavyweight Championship.

The championship is generally contested in professional wrestling matches, in which participants usually execute scripted finishes rather than contend in direct competition. Some reigns were held by champions using a ring name, while others used their real name. The current champion is Damian Lufborough.
