On the September 2, 2016 episode of ''ShowDown'', [[Kayty Kapphan (WIW)\|Kayty Kapphan]] defeated [[Hannah Weinert (WIW)\|Hannah Weinert]], [[Anna Williams (WIW)\|Anna Williams]] and [[Brooke Slevin (WIW)\|Brooke Slevin]], as on the same night [[Ali Richards (WIW)\|Allison Richards]] defeated [[Somer Cummings (WIW)\|Somer Cummings]], [[Kesley Dayton (WIW)\|Kesley Dayton]] and [[Maggie King (WIW)\|Maggie King]] in the final two fatal four way matches. -	The championship was established to be exclusive to its namesake brand, SmackDown. An incident occurred in the [[2021 WWE Draft]] where both the Raw and SmackDown women's champions were drafted to the opposite brands. To keep the titles on their respective brands, the champions swapped titles. However, this same incident occurred in the [[2023 WWE Draft]], but the champions instead kept their titles, thus the titles changed brands despite their namesakes.
