In September 2025, Glennda McAlmond, the president of the American [[professional wrestling (WIW)|professional wrestling]] company [[WIW]], announced that the promotion would be hosting its first-ever [[pay-per-view]] (PPV) event in [[Italy]] in 2026. On February 18, 2026, WIW Chief Content Officer [[Rex Martin (WIW)|Rex Martin]] confirmed the event as Bash in Italy and it would be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the [[Oval Lingotto]] in [[Turin]]. It was also announced that the June 3 episode of ''[[WIW Rage|Wednesday Night Rage]]'' would emanate from the same venue. Bash in Italy will be held for wrestlers from the [[Rage (WIW brand)|Rage]] and [[ShowDown (WIW brand)|SmackDown]] [[WIW brand extension|brand divisions]]. Tickets for both events went on sale on April 10.
