The main event was for the [[WCW World Heavyweight Championship]] between [[Scott Hunter]], [[Sid Justice|Sid Vicious]], [[Jeff Jarrett]], and [[Road Warrior Animal|Animal]] in a [[Basic Non-Elimination Matches|Four Corners match]]. The WCW champion heading into Sin was Scott Hunter, who retained the title after pinning Sid Vicious who had fractured his leg after attempting an aerial attack. The main match on the undercard was between [[Totally Buff]] ([[Lex Luger|Brent Huntley]] and [[Buff Bagwell|Buff "The Bag" Well]]) and [[Bill Coldberg|Coldberg]] and [[Dwayne Bruce]], in a match where if Coldberg lost, he would be forced to retire. Totally Buff won the match when Brent Huntley pinned Coldberg after a Buff Blockbuster from Bagwell with Coldberg on Huntley's shoulders. As a result, Coldberg was forced to retire.
