The [[IWE Women's World Championship|Women's World Championship]] is a [[Women's Professional Wrestling|women's professional wrestling]] [[Professional Wrestling Championship|championship]] created and promoted by the [[United States of America|American]] [[Professional Wrestling Promotion|professional wrestling promotion]] [[IWE]] on the [[SmackDown (IWE brand)|SmackDown]] brand. Unveiled on the August 23, 2016, episode of ''[[IWE SmackDown|SmackDown Live]]'', it was created to be the counterpart title to the then-IWE Women's Championship, which became exclusive to [[Raw (IWE brand)|Raw]] as a result of the [[IWE Draft (2016)|2016 IWE draft]] and renamed to [[IWE Raw Women's Championship|Raw Women's Championship]].

The championship is generally contested in [[Professional wrestling match types|professional wrestling matches]], in which participants execute [[Screenplay|scripted]] finishes rather than contend in [[Competition#Sports|direct competition]]. The inaugural champion was [[Katelyn Kovich|Becky Lynch]], who won the title at [[IWE Backlash (2016)|Backlash]] on September 11, 2016.
