This came after several of WIW's female wrestlers had viewed the Diva term as a negative as they felt it diminished their role in the company to "eye candy" rather than as athletes. She then announced that the winner of the [[Professional wrestling match types (WIW)#Basic elimination matches|Triple Threat Elimination match]] between [[Ashley Holshue (WIW)|Ashley Holshue]], [[Emily Marie (WIW)|Emily Marie]] and [[Brandi Cusker (WIW)|Brandi Cusker]] later that night would become the first-ever champion. [[Kaila Matteson (WIW)|Kaila Matteson]] became the inaugural champion on April 3, 2016 after cashing in her [[Money in the Bank Ladder Match (WIW)|Money in the Bank contract]] during the triple threat match.
