Early on in the match, McAlmond attempted to perform a Sharpshooter on Hunter, but instead, Benoit performed a Sharpshooter of his own. Later in the match, Hunter performed seven German suplexes on McAlmond, but lost the advantage after McAlmond blocked a headbutt attempt. Towards the end of the match, Hunter attempted to perform a Crippler Crossface on McAlmond. McAlmond, however, was able to escape, perform an RKO, and win the match via pinfall. As a result, McAlmond became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in IWE history. Following the match whilst McAlmond was celebrating his victory, Hunter returned to the ring and offered McAlmond a handshake, telling him to "be a man", which McAlmond accepted.
