icyman09 (registered June 27, 2005) is one of the best text battlers to grace NBS. Icy first came around in 2005, with a style no greater nor any lesser than any battler before him. He soon made a name for himself with complex wordplay set up in lengthy bars, the style becoming an icyman trademark.
Biography
In a nutshell, icyman09 managed to work shockingly hot punches into bars that flowed well, despite the innate stretching problem that he had worked into a strength. He used a multi scheme simple enough to spit on the first try, complex enough to get you thinking, and jaw dropping enough to get him into the hall of fame.
Not only was icyman09 a great battler, he went on to do better things in his net life here on NBS. With his skills and dedication noticed, he became a mod of the FLaB, made Darkside with the help of the notorious Chucky and was part of one of the hottest crew battles NBS had ever seen.
Everyone has been through tough times, but icy was in the toughest. He was around when being sick was a must, seeing as legends such as In-TiMe, Nyvillain20yrold, Knuxx and Chucky were in their prime. Many a battle had taken place, but icy was one of the lucky, beteer yet,just very skilled, ones to escape with more wins than losses, however.
icy’s inspiration spread far and wide, from him sponsoring members to making wordplay a popular thing. icy managed to do such creative plays with such ease that many strived to do what he did, imitate his creativity and play his game. Long after text battling finally comes to an end, icyman will always be remembered as the battler that made wordplay hot, his influence still seen in the battlers of today.
