Newbie intro thread

It's a thread. For newcomers. You say Hi. We glomp you. You come back from the hospital after the rib fractures heal up fully. We then give you a newbie pack, containing items for, well...newbies.
Other then that, innumerable moments of mayhem and hilarity ensues. For instance, at least once the universe imploded on that thread.
