The periscope can be retracted if necessary, in which case the ship will function on inertial guidance. TDF scientists are currently working on a method to "submerge" the ship in subspace. Such an ability would make the ship nearly undetectable until it "surfaces" to perform an attack.

The heavy infantry wears a heavy exoskeleton in addition to the skin-suit.
