Here is a good video tutorial on how to start out the game. It is the first part of a five-part tutorial. As many of CK's rules can seem overwhelming at first, and as the game lacks an in-game tutorial, this tutorial is strongly recommended for any newcomers to the CK series.
Also here one can view a playthrough as the count or Rostov. The playthrough is ongoing and is many more videos than the tutorial but it should help give players an idea of the game.
