You don't like mages much, but if you're gonna help someone, you shouldn't give up halfway trough. As they all look down sadly realizing his arm could be saved but they don't have the means to do it, you shake them out of it by casually saying "Well, I do know some mages trough my father.. I could ask one of them to take a look"
Its as if someone just turned on the lights when all faces in the room turn to you excitedly. Kaleb is the first to recover "You- you'd do that for us? Contact a real mage? Thats.. well.." he struggles for words. You can't help yourself and let out a little giggle "It's no problem, besides, there are some mages who're quite happy if they're given the chance to actually use their powers for something good once in a while. Usually, they're only ever allowed to unleash destruction on enemies.

Pulling yourself out of your memories, you get up. "I should probably make arrangements beforehand tho and I have to leave town tomorrow, hmm.. do any of you feel like becoming my bodyguards for a while till I can set up a meeting? Shouldn't be more than a week, maybe two, and it'll be difficult to stay in contact otherwise since I don't really know where I'll end up"
The men are quite eager to be bodyguards of a beautiful noblewoman, especially since you're offering to heal one of their own. Initially, Kaleb offers to join you for free, but you refuse to let anyone work for free, so you settle on paying them 25 gold - A very decent price for a mercenary squad with this size and experience, they'd normally cost 50 gold easily but they won't let you pay that much - after that's settled, they happily agree to serve you.
It's gotten late and you decide to return to the castle, surrounded by your new entourage. Since you kinda forgot to tell them, their eyes go wide as you stroll into the royal castle like you own the place and are treated as such as well. They soon learn of your identity and a few of them reflexively start bowing and apologizing for apparently rude behavior. You grin and tell them to just call you Saya, leaving them speechless. You retire to your rooms, Duran and the others will probably fill them in on the details by the morning.
