Primitive Life- Gathering firewood

Begrudgingly you wonder out into the woods to gather some firewood. Luckily forage is abundant this time of year and you have little trouble gathering sticks and branches to carry back. You successfully bring back one full trip's worth of wood to the camp, then head into the woods for a second load to round out your wood stocks so you won't have to worry about this wood problem again for a while.
While you are out on your second trip, you are suddenly alerted by movement in the woods around you. You drop your wood load and perk up, instinct telling you to pay heed to the woods around you. It is good you did, as no sooner have you narrowed in your eyes then you see the lean shape of a mountain lion stalking back and forth on the other side of a copse of trees. It looks hungry, eyeing you from a distance, contemplating if and when to move into striking pose.
