Jump overboard to avoid being kidnapped

Just as The Rising Sun is leaving the pier, you jump overboard into the freezing cold water of the harbor. Luckily, you know how to swim, and you manage to make it to dry land. Then, freezing cold and soaking wet, you meet Captain Christopher Highmore of the Royal Navy and tell him that Captain Whitlock has commandeered your father’s ship and tried to kidnap you! Captain Highmore takes you home, where he and your father discuss the threat that Captain Whitlock poses, and decide that, for your own safety, you are going to be sent to live with your cousins in the countryside for a while. That way, you would be far, far away from the ocean and pirates like Captain Whitlock.
