Getting your wishes subverted is so cliché.
Instead you consider your options carefully before telling the genie your wish.
Do you:
- Wish for the genie to turn into a non-magical version of a living, willing, girl from ancient history
- Wish for the genie to find you extremely attractive, but otherwise retain all her powers
- Wish for the genie to possess the counter girl and then relinquish all her magical powers, all for one hour
- Clarify a point with the genie before making your first wish
- Refuse to speak at all, since this deprives the genie of any opportunity for mischief
