You're on Church Street. To the north is the Town Square. To the east is Congregational Church. Church St continutes to the south.
Aptly named, Church Street is surrounded by churches and other ecclesiastic buildings. Directly east, for example, is Congregational Church, a gilded masonry structure with several ornamental towers and buttresses. Most other buildings look outright decrepit, with ivy slowly eating away at the crumbling facades, but this church looks well-maintained - and well-used too, judging by how many people that seems to have gathered inside. Its gates stand open to invite you inside, in sharp contrast to the forbidden closed-up appearance of the other structures.
The fog has turned into a slow drizzle, and puddles dot the street. You can see a square with a fountain to the north, while the village opens up to the south, after more church-like buildings. You can just about make out another monument in the distant south.
