Look out your window

Looking out your window you see the electricity is out across the street as well. The windows of the home directly across from you are all shattered and the front door is also open and there appears to be a small fire inside. You see black smoke billowing out of the open front door. You see no signs of life and notice that the entire street is eerily quiet.
The silence is broken by a louder scream and a thump that comes from the other room and cuts off your train of thought. It is definitely your roommate, Melanie.
