I sprinted ran home as fast as I could. Sure I was anxious to be off on my adventure, but I had to go home and back, and besides, Jasmine and I had promised each other we would go adventuring together. I was barley in the door before I almost ran over my mother. "Slow down there sweetie. What's the hurry?" "I have to hurry mom. Jasmines probably already ready to leave and I don't want to keep her waiting." "Now Celeste..." Ugh, how I hated my name. She could't even give me some normal girly name, instead, my mother decided to name me after the town my grandmother lived in. "...I know you're in a hurry to leave, but can't I spend just a few more minutes with my little girl?" "I am not your little girl, Mom! I'm 15 years old for Pete's sake!" She acted like she was going to rebuke me but the stopped. "Alright, you go ahead and pack. But I want you to say good bye to your sister for me, okay?" "Yes Mom." I ran up to my room on the second floor. Our house had one of the designs more common in our area, with three bedrooms and a bath upstairs and a spiral staircase In the middle of the house. I knew that they were going to convert my bedroom into the nursery after I was gone. Johanna had about three months to go before little Dawn was due. It didn't take me long to pack up my stuff. I had one of those heavy duty camping backpacks that I had ordered by Starlymail about a month ago and had been packing the nonperishable stuff ever since it arrived.  I had a dozen black blouses and shirts and about as many pants. There was a similar number of black bras and black panties. I packed my softest pillow, my sleeping bag and a few blankets, all black. I threw in a bunch of camping gear that I had red up on and purchased. That last thing to do was shoulder the pack and head down to the kitchen. Johanna was already there, making breakfast for herself and Mom. "So Sis, did the old Professor give you what you wanted?" "Yea, of course." "Well can I see it?" "Sure, I guess." I pulled the Pokeball out of my pocket.  I pointed it at floor and tossed it saying, "Turtwig, I choose you!" As the ball hit the floor, it opened with a flash of red light. The ball flew back into my hand and Turtwig appeared. "Aww, It's so cute!" I smiled as I looked down at the little guy. "Yea, it kind of is." I bent down and patted his little head. He gave a sharp "Twig!" and nuzzled my hand. "Hey little guy, you wana help me pack for our adventure?" he had another response that sounded like a yes, so I left him out.  I wrapped up a couple loaves of bread, and gathered over assorted food items into separate bundles. I packed them all into my pack and slung it over my shoulder. Not to heavy, I should be able to handle it. After returning Turtwig, I hugged my sister and whispered a goodbye to her unborn baby. I was halfway to the door before my mother caught me up in a big hug. She squeezed me really tight, like she was trying to get in all of the hugs she wouldn't be able to while I was out.  "You have my phone number, right?" "Yes Mom, we've been over this." "Remember to call me at the Pokemon Center of each city you enter. And you better make certain you can pay for food and a room. I don't want a call in the middle of the night asking for money." "Alright, Mom. I'll be fine." "Are you sure you don't want to be a coordinator like your sister and me? It's a much easier path." "When have I ever taken the easy way?" I yelled as I ran out the door.
