Though their very nature is based in water, Merfolk can walk among the land-dwellers. However, despite that versatility, their true prowess exists beneath the waves of the sea. When in contact with water, their legs and feet seal together and form a strong fish-like tail, capable of propelling them through the most tumultuous waters with precision and speed. They also bear hidden gills and webbing between the bases of their fingers.
