Burn the rock

You pick up a rock and tell Charmander to use ember on it. Charmander replies with a nod and then opens it's mouth to use ember. A little flame comes out and merely scorches the rock....and your hand.
"Ouch" you say while dropping the rock. "Oh well, you're still young. You will get stronger soon and then we will try again. Come on Charmander let's head to Viridian City!"
