With the arrival at Coruscant approaching, Padmé dresses in her flight gear and joins Typho, Jok and Porro Dolphe, all similarly dressed. The four pilots make for their N-1 starfighters slung under the cruiser's broad wings, entering the sleek starfighters via docking tubes. Warming up her borrowed vessel, Padmé silently wishes Cordé good luck, and disengages from the cruiser as the tunnel of hyperspace fades away, and the great orb of Coruscant appears ahead.

Forming up with her squadron, Padmé flicks the comm switch, broadcasting to her fellow pilots. "Gold Three checking in."

"Gold Leader reporting in." That was Typho, flying ahead of the formation. Dolpe and Jok chimed in, the latter adding: "Gold Three's starboard pulse engine is listing. Recommend she has someone give her intakes a good seeing to."

Padmé smiles, correcting her vessel as Typho requests her to shape up. She's well aware of Jok's meaning; she met the flyboy during a flying lesson on Naboo three days ago, and is under no illusions about exactly which "intakes" he's referring to. The incognito senator also knows that Jok himself would like to be the one to see to her.

The Alliance to Restore the Republic, formed through the Corellian Treaty and numerous rebel cells and planetary resistance movements, has won its first victory against the Galactic Empire. With agents in the field scrambling to obtain key data tapes from Imperial facilities, the Alliance Fleet is beginning to mobilize in preparation for further strikes against Palpatine's regime.

You have been assigned to the ''Tantive IV'', a blockade runner in service to the Royal House of Alderaan and carrying the Princess Organa on a desperate mission to rendezvous with agents on Topwara as part of the top-secret Operation Skyhook. You saw first-hand the princess's bravery on Ralltiir and Kattada, and have become staunchly loyal to the Alderaanian freedom fighter—not least because of the great beauty you first saw captured in propaganda holographs.

You are currently awaiting orders in the officers' common room on the corvette's second deck, along with Ensign Smadis and others. You have not received orders from either Captain Antilles or the princess herself in some time.

On the one hand her liberal speech-making and fierce stand for the democratic parties has earned her powerful and dangerous enemies among mercenaries of the underworld and the greedy commerce guilds; however, her impassioned missions of mercy and angelic appearances in the Senate Rotunda have made her a highly respected, trusted and desired woman throughout the Republic.

Now, she is returning to Coruscant from her homeworld of Naboo in the company of many of her loyal protectors, intending to vote against the Military Creation Act that would see a standing army darken the Republic's door for the first time in a thousand years. Traveling aboard her chromium-plated J-type diplomatic barge, Padmé has a complement of Royal Security Guards with her, led by Captain Typho, and is intending on using the loyal Cordé as her decoy for landing on the galactic capital; already threats and assassination attempts have left Padmé cautious, for she knows her enemies will stop at nothing to see her defeated, humiliated... or worse.

Padmé enters Cordé's cabin, finding the brown-haired girl seated at the small dresser opposite her bunk, staring into the mirror. She is wearing a simple, cream-colored chemise, clearly ready to don the heavy gown with which she will pass herself off as the Senator of Naboo.

"We still have forty minutes until Coruscant," Padmé says, and Cordé turns to her, surprised. "Plenty of time for dressing."

"I didn't want to be late, senator," Cordé says, her eyes full of worry. "I don't want to let you down."

Padmé smiles. "You won't, Cordé. You're a loyal friend."

But the pretty, pale-faced girl seems preoccupied. "If the assassins strike again... if they figure out the deception...."

Padmé crosses to Cordé and places a hand reassuringly on her bare shoulder, finding the girl's muscles bunched tightly. "Then Captain Typho will have to prove how capable he is. Besides," she adds, pulling a sporting pistol from her waistband, "I'm hardly a slouch in that department."

Cordé smiles, a little relieved. "Of course, senator. I didn't mean to say you weren't."

The senator tilts her head to one side, observing her look-a-like's beautiful face. "We need to find you a way to relax," Padmé decides, squeezing the girl's shoulder affectionately.

Curious, you follow after Hosh and Tenk, entering the central room to find the lights dimmed and a cluster of pilots crowded by the couches at the far end. Several turn at the sound of your entry, but Janson spots you, waving you over. "Get a load of this, Luke!"

Closing in, you discover the center of the Rogues' attention; Hobbie is standing over one of the couches, his orange flight suit dropped around his ankles, and a woman kneeling in front of him. Her actions are clear in the way she bobs her head enthusiastically, her chestnut-colored hair falling over her face. Hobbie groans, tilting his head back with a grimace of pleasure.

"Private Kend," Janson explains. "She usually services Vornskr Squadron, but me and Hobbie carried out a hit-and-fade," he laughs. "Score one for the Rogues."

You watch Kend as she sucks noisily on Hobbie, her fists bunched in his undershirt. "Hey," Janson calls to Hobbie, "don't take all season. Commander wants a turn!" He grins at you.

Disappointed that you won't have the chance to spend time with the beautiful Princess of Alderaan, you mooch along the icy corridors towards the lower-level pilots' barracks. You've not had much chance to catch up with Wedge and the others since the ambush over Derra IV, and you could do with blowing off some steam after your failed attempt with Leia.

Entering the barracks area, you spot Wedge lounging in the mess, drinking alone. The dark-haired Cinda Tarheel is speaking to her squad mate, Nala Hetsime, and you spot Samoc Farr loitering in the doorway to the bunk rooms. There appears to be some commotion in the central rec room; Hosh and Tenk hurry through the doorway excitedly, closing it firmly behind them.

"Luke!" Leia calls from behind you, and you turn to find the princess hurrying down the corridor after you.

"I thought you had work to do?" you ask, confused.

"It can wait," the Alderaanian beauty smiles. "There are more important things than running a rebellion... like catching up with very dear friends." She clasps her gloved hand to your upper arm in a friendly manner, but there is a need in her eyes that suggests something more complicated. "You must be cold from your patrol," she says in a concerned tone.

"Oh, I'm fine. I like to keep plenty of layers on me," you explain.

You navigate the clutter of electronic equipment and ComScan radar screens, and find a slim figure clad in white thermal gear, poring over a console alongside General Rieekan, who spots you.

"Commander Skywalker," he says in greeting, and Leia turns at your name, flashing a bright smile at you.

"I couldn't find any sign of life out there, General. My sensors are in place, so we'll know if anything comes around."

"Solo reported in yet?" Rieekan asks, and you don't fail to spot the flash of concern in Leia's eyes.

"No, he's checking out a meteorite that hit near us."

Rieekan sighs. "With all the meteor activity in this system, it's going to be difficult to spot approaching ships." He nods and turns back to his work. Leia is still looking at you.

"Well, I finished my circle. I don't pick up any life readings."

"There isn't enough life on this ice cube to fill a space cruiser," he grumbles, and you have to smile at the Corellian's sour mood. "The sensors are placed. I'm going back."

"Hang on, there's a meteorite that hit the ground near here. You mind checking it out?"

A pause, then: "Whatever, kid. It's not like my balls are gonna freeze any more than they already are. Solo out."

You smile again, and turn your tauntaun back towards Echo Base, looking forward to some hot grub... and maybe a little time spent with Leia. Your smile turns into a grin as you think about her; she's been an admirer of yours ever since the Death Star, and even though you think it might only be to make Han jealous, you'll let her do whatever she likes if it gets you into her royal pants.

The ridge of Clabburn Range comes into view through the snowy haze, and you reign your tauntaun in through the gaping hangar bay of Echo Base, leaving her with the stable master, Officer Rolado. Stepping through into the laser-blasted ice corridor, you shiver through your thermals. Time to get warm!
