"What do you mean, too late?"
He shuffles uncomfortably. "They bit me. They made me into one of them. And that's why I need you to stay away. I can smell you, even from here, and it's calling something terrible from inside me."
You process this for a moment. "So, you're telling me that you're a vampire."
"As of this morning, yes." He answers. He's not shaking so badly anymore, but there's still a desperate air about him.
"And you expect me to believe that."
"I know it sounds crazy," he says, "But I can prove it. Do you have a mirror?"
You pull out your compact.
"Check for my reflection."
You do, and it's not there. In the mirror, the cell appears completely empty. You put your mirror away.
