You head toward the sound of the vehicle. It means only one thing to you. Rescue. Safety. Someone who can save you from this creep, can get you out of these evil woods.
The sound doesn't seem to be coming from very far away. In the clear, still night, you can easily locate the source. You head right for it.
After you've walked about twenty yards, you slow down. It might be a cop, or it might be a civilian. But it could be the creep. You watched him murder the Deputy who tried to rape you. The Deputy must have had a car nearby, and now the creep has access to it. You don't know if the creep can drive, but you choose to assume the worst.
You move carefully through the woods. It takes a long time.
Finally, you come to a road. You stop at the treeline and kneel down behind a thick hedge. You peer at the vehicle parked on the road in front of you.
It is a large SUV. You can't tell what color it is, except that it is dark. However, it does have a light bar on the roof.
Your heart leaps with joy. It's a police car.
Or is it?
You stay in your hiding place. There is someone sitting behind the wheel. You can't see any details because of the distance and the darkness.
Your fear and caution battle with your desire to be rescued.
Do you approach the SUV, and take your chances, or do you continue to observe, making sure it's safe before approach?
- It's worth the risk. You approach the SUV and ask the officer for help
