You firmly plant your forward foot down to halt your rush into the room. Your front foot silps on the edge of the pit and you just barely stop yourself from tumbling forward. And its a good thing too. Through your flickering torchlight you can see that the bottom of the pit is lined with rows of sharp, teeth like metal projections.
